Ok I got to the ghostgate walked trough it, killed a zombie got scared when I saw the red mist remembering each and every cheesy vampire movie I ever saw so I went back to the dusk section of the gate. Now 2 things:
1. Where can I find/buy the glass gear ?
2. Why are all those people so pissed with me ? (not actually kicking my ass but they ain't friendly).
1. There is a merchant in ghostgate somewhere who does sell it. It's also possible to steal it from his storage, or just taunt one of the folks wearing it into attacking you, so you can loot their corpse
2. Probably their disposition is negative based on a combination of your race, class and guild memberships
3. Some are House Redoran, most are Tribunbal Temple. Many are Buoyant Armigers, one of the two military arms of the temple (the other is the Ordinators of Vivec).
You can find several near-complete sets of glass armor in the game.
One you can find in one of the major vampire lairs (you'll have to kill the owner ).
One is given to you when you follow the "good" path for the fighters' guild (or you can just steal it).
As mentioned before, one is sold in the Ghostgate - don't remember which side - search downstairs.
Individual pieces - sometimes Golden Saints will drop a nice shield.

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
I was happily killing all those people with glass armour and Daedric helms yesterday, but then I wondered - are any of them needed for quests? I could go search for it but I'm too lazy...

Actually, now that I think about it, there was - and one of the items he carries was indeed part of a Ghostgate Temple quest.
