At least I think we can all agree that everything visual in the movie was beyond anything.

**Spoilers**: The Isengard army was too awesome, you really got the feel that there was those 10.000.
Gimli took care of the laughter, and Legolas of the Oooh´s and Aah´s, while Aragorn took care of the chicks.

And what the hell were those things pushing the Mordor gate wheel? Ogres?
The situation where the suicide goblin runs in with the bomb really gets the desparation feel going, because you partly know it´s gonna happen. Aragorn´s fall-off-the-cliff was a tad stupid, but that was one of the only complaints I could find.

Surely I am seeing it again, and getting it on VHS.

BTW, (off topic) has anyone tried Divine Divinity? Could you just give a lowdown, with opinions? Thanks.

It was my favourite critic(up until now) Fredrik Sahlin from Filmkrönikan. This was his last show aswell... well atleast he said it was well made and all that but still, it hurts.

Well I am a mere 5 hours away from the starting time of the film.

But in the meantime, I thought Id show you what the North American critics have to say about it. 123 reviews so far, 3 bad 120 good. Thats remarkable in this day of critics, the average percentage of good reviews for a movie is near 55% or worse. 98% of the critics like this movie. Thats the largest number since "Chicken Run" got 100%. And that isnt saying a lot, but trust me, these critics love to bash movies.

Heres what the 123 critics had to say.

Holy crap! That was BLOODY AWESOME!!!

I loved it! The warg riders, the treefolk, everything....all the scenes were just increadible. And there were humerous points, and very emotional points. I just cant believe that I could be that astounded over 3 hours.

There was but one thing I would have done to made it better....well (highlight) during the bog scene, wheres a better place to put a bullette, possibly one of the coolest animals in D&D, but there was no bullette.

But thats merely my point....I love those creatures.

Great character development for a many characters....and Gollum....just awesome. What more can I say! This is a MUST SEE movie! I dont see how its possible not to like it!

No. I said Id either be disappointed with the film or Id be bouncing off the walls. That was the result. A day later, and I still feel the movie corsing through me.

Yep. It definetly falls into my top 10 favorite movies. And it may even be my favorite after I see it a few more times. If I do go out to the theatre to see it again, it will mark the first time I have ever gone to the theatre to see a movie more then once. Thats how good it is.

The more I think about my top 5 favorite movies, the more I realize where the Two Towers falls on my personal list.

I think it will beat out "Full Metal Jacket" for second best, but falls short of beating my all time favorite move, "Clue", which I have seen at least a dozen times or more, and I find myself laughing every time for that delightful hour and 45 minutes. Just a great movie "Clue" is, and I dont know whether any film will ever beat it on my list. But "The Two Towers" is now my all time second best film ever made.

But maybe the more I see "The Two Towers", the closer it will come to first.

Well the Fellowship, which Ive now seen twice in a course of a week,

falls somewhere between 5th and 10th. But these numbers change as I watch a movie more and more. I originally felt it was about 15th, but then I saw it a second time, and you just got to love the scene in the Dwarven ruins, and the final fight scene. Jaw-dropping good. But I found TTT to have so many breath taking scenes.

Out of all TTT amazing scenes the one I like best is at the very beginning, recounting Gandalf's fight with the Balrog. Fighting demonic monsters with swords while skydiving down a narrow pit is just too cool for words.

When I think about that scene there's no doubt about what my favorite movie is.

No kidding? Wow....I would have never guessed that. Isnt it strange how I actually found that scene to be slightly corny.

Sorry. But it just looked strange. And well....it was a VERY hard scene to portray well, so I gave the director the benefit of the doubt and didnt point it out as a negative thing, and only looked at the missed oppurtunity for a bullette.

When there is a hard scene to get out, and it just doesnt look right, but it doesnt look atrocious, then I let it slide. Thats what is going on here.

But the warg riders scene, the attack at Helm's Deep scene, the scene with the olaphaunts, and the treefolk attack all sent chills of excitement down my spine.

And Gimli is just a classic character in this film. Some of the funniest lines/moments occur with him. Excellent.

Not to mention the time when the treefolk let the river loose, and the one that was on fire just dove into the stream to remove the fire. Ah! Classic.

My opinion of you has dropped to the point where you are only slightly more likeable than a cobra who has bitten my testicles.

If any scene looked a little awkward it was the Warg scene. The CGI was a little off here (though still great).

I like how you can clearly see the orc races and hierarchy (Moria Orcs have big eyes and pale skin, Mordor orcs are fairly random but universally ugly, Uruk-Hai are the muscle-bound master race). I'm pretty sure that in-fighting scene was in the book too. I love how the lead Uruk beheads the orc and says something to the effect of "We have meat now!" (that orc should have been careful what he wished for).
