Unplaced items

Post by Quarrel »

During my travels I have picked up a number of items that don't mean much to me. If anybody can throw some light on them it would be appreciated.

1) Sottildes Diary.
In code but for what purpose?
2) Dwemer Tube.
I know it is requested in a Mages Guild quest but does it
serve any other purpose?
3) Two expensive books - Egg of Time & Divine Metaphysics.
Both worth 1000gp.
4) Another book - Hanging Gardens.
In the preface it states that a scholar of Aldmeris may
translate other Dwemer books. Anyone met such a
scholar?
5) Bug Lamp.
???!!??

I have no idea where I found them. Thanks.
Remember ........... better late than premature.

Some help

SPOILER:

The code book is for a fighter guild quest (Eydis Fire Eye)

The dwemer tube is for a Blade quest (Caisus)

I am also still looking for the Altmer to translate the one book (Hanging Gardens).

And I heard in my travels that someone is researching dwemer artifacts and would be interested in those books (Egg of Time etc.) but haven't found them yet either.

No, the dwemer tube is not for a Blade quest, I don't know what it's for, though. I think you're confusing it with the Dwemor Puzzel Box. :)

Yep

Correct. Someone asks for one and fairly early on. Let's just say, i'm pretty sure it's in Balmora and either the Fighters, mages, or thieves guild.

How's that for precision memory recall.

Hanging gardens, The Egg of Time, and Divine Metaphysics are books about the good ol' dwemer race. Talk about them with the Last Dwarf Alive and he'll read them for you, shedding some light on the Disappearence Of the Dwarves, thus letting you complete the quest for the Mages Guild leader.

I actually have something I dont know how to apply:
Note to Hisskar,
Note from Oritius Maro (something to do with Talos Cult I presume, but I only know 2 people in it and they don't tell me anything interesting, if you know what to do in this cult let me know please!)

@Leo

Thanks. I spent way too much time running around looking for someone who knew something. One of the mages suggests that an old Telvanni may speak the language so I pretty much asked all of them in Sadrith Mora, Tel Vos and Tel Aruhn. It took a forever.

So now I just have to find the Last Dwarf.

Don't help on that one just yet. :D

De_Priester> You want to know but SSRat doesn't - kinda makes it hard to post anything. Don't be so impatient.

... and when I look at you I think, if I were a psychopath and we were standing on an extremely high cliff above a pounding surf that would drown out your scream ... well ... you know ...

Thanks for the show of support. :) Free_fall.

Uncle Scratchy has it right though. I'm all done (w/ Tribunal too).

It was a bit of a pain; stumbled upon the last dwarf once i stopped looking for him and just went about my business.

BTW, if you listened to booksellers, you should know by now that Telvani expert of Dwarven lived even outside the traditional Telvani region. In fact he even does not live near to the East coast ;)
The quest may be solved in two ways here

Just how do you find the Dwemer stuff from the smuggler? I looked the place and there is nothing. Chests contain just raw ebony, and in his person there is nothing. So where are the Dwemer stuff?

It's the Legion task in Al'ruhn? Pay attention to the table with all that pottery on, try look under different angles, you may notice something (not a big thing, altogether just what you need).
