Need Help with a Bug in my Version

Post by ProjectGuy2000 »

Before we get into a spamming or flaming match let me describe my situation.

First off I have a registered copy of Morrowind (somewhere... I recently moved and it is among the boxes that remain unpacked and may be so for some time.

Secondly. I am working away from home and do not have access to said boxes for at least another 3 months.

Thirdly, I am a BAD man and I decided to use the NO-CD cheat to save me from dragging it around.

Forthly (is that really a word???) I would really like to continue to enjoy this game while I am away and maybe finish it.

Finally I would rather NOT have to fork out the money for another copy of the game.

Here is my problem. For what ever reason I am unable to access a number of the dock areas ie. Sadrith Mora. I get dumped to the desktop when I enter the zone. This is inconvenient to be sure but I have lived with it... I travelled largly by foot and water etc... to get to those places that I could have hopped a boat. An inconvenience but just that.

Now I am doing a quest for House Redoran and I need to get Arobar's daughter to the docks... but I can't get on the docks... see the problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Try one of the newer patches, what patch version have you got?

Mr Sleep, it won't work - or he is going to find nocd for the patched version. AFAIK for Morrowind they are made patching a Morrowind executable or so i heard, you have to replace original with hacked one, and they obviously are diferent before and after the patch. Moreover, probably no patch will work with such changed executable (there usually is some checking if executable going to be replaced is the right one). My guess is the nocd is wrong, one, who made it, wasn't qualified enough and changed something what shouldn't be changed. It happens, nobody's perfect ;)

You need to get the latest patch and install it (doesn't matter if you have it already or not, reinstall to get rid of any corruption you might be experiencing). Then I'll send you a PM as to which No-CD crack you should get that works well for the American version, the only problem with it is that it disables the videos, which as far as I've seen is the only way to do it as whether I have the CD in the drive or not, the video check fails if I'm using a crack that doesn't disable it. Run that crack and unless there's an actual problem with the CD you installed the game from or your hard drive, it should work a treat.

I used a no-CD hack which worked well. To retain the videos, all you had to do was copy the entire video folder from the CD to the Morrowind folder on your hard drive.

Of course, i have no idea where i got it anymore, but it's out there. :)

Hmm...they might have fixed that in the latest patch, 'cos it didn't work for me when I tried that... ;)
