What I miss in "the" games
What I miss in "the" games
BG, BG2, IWD, IWD2, etc. i think you know what games i mean
It would be so much cooler when the game just didnt stop after you win the game. It would be so cool if you could wander around, and maybe even some little quests after you killed irenicus..

in Fallout 2 you can wander around and do all the quests and turn into a ighty hero until you find out there is nothing left to do so you kill everyone
Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies
"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"
I'd rather be rich than stupid.
If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

The problem with wandering around after achieving your main goal differs from game to game. In the IWD series, there simply *is* no wandering around, at any time: it's completely linear. In the BG series, you'd simply run into people who would treat you as though nothing has happened, because the devs never programmed in any special post-success behavior. In PS:T, it's unthinkable that you'd wander around, since the game ends with the hero being whisked off to his penance in the evil dimensions, where PS:T2 was supposed to start off. (Unfortunately, Interplay had other ideas.)
The first game I can think of that let you truly enjoy wandering around after the big confrontation(s) was Microprose's old Darklands. After you defeated the evils bent on releasing the Apocalypse, your party of four would receive a hero's welcome just about anywhere they went. And it was a distinct delight to run across arrogant figures between town who would quake about divining your identity.

In the old Commodore games like Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds, you could walk around and get some hero-worship from the townsfolk, and if I remember right there were actually some little stuff you could find and get into, like caves and stuff you hadn't seen before. I remember specifically in Curse of the Azure Bonds, there was a cave near Dagger Falls where you found a council of monsters or something. There were like 15-20 of everything: Beholders, Drow Lords, Dragons, Dracoliches... very nasty.

Once you've played PS:T, you'll realize I've given away literally nothing. You're no wiser now about anything in it than you were in the past. The fact I related had to do with a sequel that never occured, rather than anything game-related.

well...thankyou FABLE!
what's the meaning with playing PS:T for me now when you have told the answear? please, please, very much please use *SPOLIER* please?
Unlike other games, what fable wrote is not the answer to your quests and questions. Not really. So, don't worry and... don't go mad.
PS:T is an extraordinary and unusual game requiring a different way of thinking and approach from, let's say, BG series or IWD. After you having played it for a while you'll see what I mean.
Merry Christmas!

Not sure how it would've played in the BG series, a couple games I played that did that was SSI Gold box series game Dark Queen of Kyrnn the other was SSI Shattered Lands I forget the realm it was set in, had alot of psionics in it, anyone remember the realm?
Now that I think about it Shattered lands had similar gameplay as BG series.......That was a fun game.
I remember in the final battle I deliberatly webbed all the fighters from the town that came to help me so they wouldn't die. hehe
I might bust that game out, heh "Son of a cank" hehe

i miss some converstion, like the ones in PS:T, you know, in BG II, you wander around beeing a Baal spawn and all, but for some reason you dont really have a problem with it. there could have been some more "deep" conversations... after all you are dealing with some pretty heavy issues here! (with your stolen soul)..
