Top of Guilds question

Post by Loredweller »

I got the Fighters Guildmaster's tittle twice and both times i hadn't been the Champion (or whatevere the second to Guildmaster rank is). The last time i even did not match the official requirements for the rank.
Also the Archmage offered me a duel as soon as i touched the Archmaster topic in conversation. I avoided the answer, however i'm just curious if it's possible to got that rank without the usual procedure.
TIA
Loredweller

Yes, it is possible to become the Arch-mage of the mages' guild without dualing what's-his-name - via the guild-head in Ald Ruhn.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Sorry, Sojourner, but.... first, it's not the ald'ruhn guild quest giver who puts you on the non-duel path, it's the sadrith mora quest giver. Second, Loredweller, if you duel Trebonius before being semi-directed to by Edwinna in ald'ruhn you essentially "break" becoming archmage. Once you actually do meet the requirements guild rep wise and you're directed to Trebonius, since he's not there it won't go any further.

Well, i've known i may become Archmage without duel, of course. I just wondered if there's some 3rd way. If it breaks the way it should be corrected by developers (in the last game i'm a Master Wizard, match requirements, altogether haven't gone with Edwina so far she'd direct me to Trebonius, nonetheless the Archmage option is here; i might finish Sadrih Mora Guild quest line any time now if i wished because i do have got the book on my shelf ;) ).
Thanks anyway :)

You're right - I had forgotten about him.

Yes, that is what happened to me. I am the head of the Mage Guild but cannot advance myself to the highest rank. Am I missing something because of that, I wonder?
