Transferring games
I'm going to be playing BGII again (after a year of being deprived!!!!! - I borrowed it from a friend and couldn't afford it for a long while). Anyway, what I would like to do is play on a certain computer for a week, and then transfer a entire saved game unto another computer harddrive... I know I'd have to export and import my character file (along with the saved game itself, of course), but I'm also curious if NPC files, etc, would have to be exported as well... Anyone tried this?
Thanks!
David
Thanks!
David

I have transferred saved games. (Laptop while on the road to/from PC at home)
All you need is the saved game. The only challenge is to ensure you have all the same mods and patches. The only problems I ever had is when I moved the saved game after trying out a new mod but didn't have the mod loaded on the other computer.

Yes, I'm positive.
The character files are only for starting over with the same character, and the NPC files are only for before you meet them. Once you have started all character and info on NPC's in your party is in the saved game files.
This can also been seen by opening the saved game in ShadowKeeper.

I can confirm what Screaming Johny said. If you want to transfer a game from one hard drive to another, all you need to do is to copy the saved game files you want. Just copy the entire folder and drop it into your new SAVE folder. Saved games are usually about 300k to 500k in size, so at least two saved games can fit on a floppy disk. You can also burn them on CD if you'd like to. The saved game files store all of your character information, so you don't need to roll up new characters and import them or anything like that.
If you can't afford the retail price of the sequels, Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal, there are used copies available in secondhand stores and also on eBay and Half.com.
Good luck!

Btw, I do have BGII and TOB, I bought both of them Saturday
Then you're in for quite an experience.

New problem...
After I got this all installed and everything, it is asking for a Customer Number (I forfeited registering... I'm going to uninstall it in a week, anyway)... The package I bought it in came in 4 CD sleeves, instead of one 4 CD jewel case. Does any of you know where I can locate the Customer Number/ID whatever (I can't play without it)?

I hope this is my last 'problem'.
I'm running (currently) a 850 Mhz Athlon proc, 32 MB video card, with 512 MB of RAM.
With all that (I've run the game smooth on 550 Mhz 192MB RAM, 4 MB video card...), the game is slightly choppy and slows way down during just medium sized battles, even with the lowest graphic settings! Is it possible that my system just doesn't want to give the entire power? Can I mess with some DirectX stuff? Anything?
Thanks mucho again
