What alignement are they of? Is it really evil to kill them? (My party consists of good characters.)

I would assume they are neutral. But yes, I believe it would be evil to kill them, because they do not pose a threat to kill you, nor are they doing evil things, that are known, within the monastary walls

(highlight for spoiler)Well there is one evil thing going on down there, but most of the monks are helpless from stopping it, because there is an outside evil force in the monastary from the Legion of the Chimera emmisary. But he can be dealt with through non-violent means. It would be unwise to kill any of the monks, because they are essential to move forward in the plot.

Right? Does that answer your question?
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Has anyone actually wiped out the monastary? And if so, what do the Deurgar offer up for it? Inquiring minds want to know. And conversly, has anyone wiped out the Deurgar?

I've found out that I don't tolerate slavery (: D), so im wiping them out. I did once before, but then my machine hung and I had to restart. I think you get a decent flail and a good hammer from the slave master and Burud. Don't know about the rest.

Spoiler re Duergar If you choose not to wipe out the monks at the monastry, the Duergar will come looking for you - I found that battle one of the best so far in the game ;) and eyepoker is correct, there is a decent hammer and flail to be had.
