Nic Adapter

Post by slacker2 »

I HAVE A CABLE MODEM CONNECTION AND I CURRENTLY HAVE A REALTEK 8029AS NIC CARD. THE CARD IS ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. I WAS WONDERING IF IT WOULD BE WORTH UPGRADING TO A NEWER NIC CARD. WOULD I SEE AN IMPROVEMENT IN INTERNET PERFORMANCE IN REGARDS TO INTERNET GAMING AND SURFING?

THANKS SLACKER

Probably, although depending on your connection, you may not get any increased performance at all. I'd still get a new NIC because they're dirt cheap. I picked up a Netgear 10/100 PCI NIC at Best Buy for $15 (USD) with $10 in rebates; you can't even buy a paperback book for $5 anymore.
