The Illuminated Order V.09
Complete, tested (I ran through it successfully with no error messages or problems) and ready for download...

The Illuminated Order Mod - zip file

Adds:
A new faction
20+ quests
new magic weapons (including one new reskinned weapon) and armor
the chance to become a liche (changes appearance, gains powers and drawbacks, effects NPC reaction but can be worked around with effort)
literally dozens of new areas or expansions of existing areas

To install:
Download the zip file, unzip contents to your C: drive. Make sure 'keep folders/paths' is checked and everything will go where it's supposed to.

To start:
When starting the game, on the autolauncher click on the "Data Files" button. It will bring up a list of available mods. Double click on the mods name and it load when you start the game.

To start the mod in-game:
Ask around in Balmora for rumors until you hear the one about he mad dark elf who claimed to be a liche....

This is a working release, however no one but me has played through it as yet. Accordingly, it's possible some bugs still exist. If you encounter any during play, pls send details to me at rhe1@gte.net so I can make required fixes.

(as an aside, jeez, you wouldn't believe the amount of work this thing took)

Woo-hoo! As soon as I've got various applications on my computer reinstalled (including Morrowind - yes, the computer decided it didn't want to start anymore and I had to reinstall Windows

) I'll be playing it through, and giving you as much feedback as I can muster, which if what I've played so far is anything to go on won't be necessary. Go on people, if you've got Tribunal give it a go!

I very foolishly included the wrong version of the .esp file in the zip file I uploaded last night. A new zip file has been uploaded (same link as in the first post) containing the proper .esp now. For anyone who has already downloaded the file, I apologize, but you'll need to download the newer version.

Just as an FYI to folks....I also posted the link to the file on the elder scrolls forums board. It's gotten some rather favorable attention. Email I got this morning said:

I downloaded your mod yesterday, and it's really good. If I didn't know it was a mod I'd think it was a part of the original game.

Higher praise I can't imagine, and the official mod forum folks are a sophisticated crowd when it comes to mods. I'd hope that some of the folks here give it a try and find it similiarly good.

Way to go. It's not undeserved praise either - I've really enjoyed what I've played so far. When I first saw the Demnevanni Manor, for example, I had to double-check to make sure it wasn't there under another name in the original game.

Thanks - like I said, I really can't imagine higher praise then that.

I tell you, if the amount of bugfixes that turn out to be needed turn out to be minor (so far, I've seen notifications on two typos and nothing else) I'll really have to go gear up for another mod. It'd definitely be another of the "I really wanted someone else to do something like this, but no one has so far..." variety, the only question is whether it'd be for one of the vampire clans, House Indoril, or being able to join with Dagoth Ur and the Sixth House.

If you were gonna mod a significant portion of the game, I'd vote for vampires...they're already in the game unlike those others you mention, but so underdeveloped as to be extremely annoying to play. I'd love to have some quests and more people who would talk to me as a vampire, and I'm sure you would think of loads of stuff to do with them.
