cup of bitternes

alright i found this cup, at...i believe it was Ald 'redoynia (or whatever) it says that if i drink it, it will increase my highest skill, and lower my worse; should i drink it--what will happen, or...will i need it for some other quest, or etc...?

also, in Tel fry i did the corpsumanium (or whatever)got most of the keys, and went upstairs to the old sorcerer; in his chest i found some amulet, if i go to equip it, it asks me if i want to be teleported somewhere--i've been there but its empty---what is this for?

You need the bitter cup for a thieves quest so just take it but don't drink it.

If Fire-eyes is dead during the Fighters Guild control quests it can be avoided. I passed somehow this item completely last game and all the same am the Master of FG and Master Thief.
