Dragon Overkill
Dragon Overkill
When I first heard that BG II would feature dragons I was really pleased, but by my count you meet five during the course of the game; surely thats too much! Wouldn't just one, with a developed personality and an intergral part to play in the plot have been better? Maybe the programmers were just so pleased with their work and wanted to show it off as much as possible...( )

I am pleased with their work too! - great graphics (esp Adalon) also all that exp and armour you would miss out on.
Their is only one dragon (wyrm!) in IWD HoW. Again, great graphics etc etc, but SOOO hard! Actually she is the final battle which would explain it. But what use the exp when you have completed a game and you cannot use your characters for any other game...

I don't see that the Exp and armour is really an issue; if they hadn't been available from the dragons then you would have been able to get them from somewhere else in the game. I'm talking from more of a tone and plot perspective.

iirc there is only 3 dragons for a good party to fight, adalon & nameless dragon "should" not be fought.
suldessnlar dragon is the only one imo that you have to fight. (or you could just cheat your stuff)
i think they went a little overboard w/ more than just the dragons:
liches -> at least 6, may be more w/ scaleable monster encounters.
beholders -> it seemed every dungeon has at least one.
kobolds -> they are just a speed bump, but they are everywhere.

Hah! Every time you battle a dragon it's cool! I'm happy they put in as many as they did!
As for the amount of dragons, I found:
* 1 Red - Firkaarg
* 1 Silver - Adalon
* 2 Shadow - Temple Ruins & Sundanesselar
I recall ToB should include:
* Blue Dragons
* Purple Dragons
(Don't take those purple ones for granted, me memory is a bit hazy )

I think there is two more dragons in ToB. A white dragon and a blue dragon. I am looking at the manual right now and it list white dragon scales and blue dragon scales as available items that can be achieved. Hope that helps people.
