The Hardest Solo?
Has there been any single-class or multi-class which NO ONE has been able to finish the game solo with? What would be the hardest solo?

Not using potions and many items has to make it very hard, but with a few hundred days of resting, a Wizardslayer could probably manage.
Even the lousiest specialist mage can probably manage to do the Twisted Rune with enough tries (using a Protection from Magic scroll) and net the Staff of the Magi, the cheesiest item in the game. However, an Enchanter, say, would still be hard to solo.
Every class has access to decent summons from items (Effreti Bottle and spider figurine are easy to get, Djini Ring a bit harder, Horn of Valhalla requires getting past a Maze trap IIRC). Everyone can use strength girdles. With these, most everyone stands a chance even with less-than-stellar stats. (If you can find enough int potions to scribe spells, even a mage with lousy int can do fine.)
The exception is the wizardslayer, who can't use the conjuration items (I think) and can't wear girdles. So if you gave me a Wizardslayer with 9s or worse for all stats, I don't think I could complete the game no matter how long I spent trying. Especially if you, say, put 5 proficiency points in Darts.

Actually, I'm not so sure now. A wizardslayer can still use the Mauler's Arm, which is not very hard to get, and sets strength to 18, allowing you to use some good armor. Then he just needs a way to level up enough to get mace proficiency, resorting to the darts of doom as needed, then dual wield with a better mace. I think it's possible...not that I'm volunteering.Originally posted by moriveth:

@aVENGER2k ...yes he did.
@moriveth ...Now if you start adding to the question....you can't use this or that, it will be harder. But I still believe there will be someone who can still solo the game with any class, no matter what rules you add.

Cleric/Thief would be in my opinion one of the better soloists. Also, fighters in general including the Wizardslayer would not be the worst soloists. The worst soloists in my opinion would be a single-class druid or a plain thief or a disadvantageous specialist mage.
I don't want to add in requirements of low ability scores, or messed up profiencies or choices of spells, because then the question would become too convoluted--just a choice of class or subclass or multi-class, and the attempt to solo with it.

It is a bit strange to me that nobody mentioned beastmaster. When I was picking a class for my solo game WS and beastmaster were considered the hardest.
And for the WS, as strange as it might sound, the most crucial stat is intelligence. Everything else can be fixed with items and good luck, but lack of ability to read scrolls would make the game a real challenge (and it makes Underdark impossible, imo)

I'm currently soloing with an half-orc barbarian. I rolled his stats once and got :
S- 18
D- 10
C- 18
W- 12
I- don't remember, something low.
C- 9
It's not really hard but big battles are certainly challenging. The Horror innate ability makes them a bit easier. The lack of AC makes the game a bit harder too (untill I get the bracers)
With that said I figured that the hardest solo (but still manageable IMO) would be Joe the Farmer:
Human Fighter with the lowest ability. The thing is you only need to get maulers arm to be able to wear a good armour and transport stuff.
Now if you wanna try Joe the wannabe Mage then its a different story

Helm sees all. Do not offend him in intent or in deed!
