Well, the official record stays at 6, then.

On the the subject of enchanting, I have just made a discovery. Everybody else probably knows....

When you go to an enchanter for your enchantments, you can make a profit in the transaction. First, you have to sell something to the enchanter. If you let him or her do the enchantment next, the money you spend will be in the posession of the enchanter when you barter again. So at that time, you are bartering with a very wealthy merchant! A good time to get rid of all excess Deadric weaponry, for example.

I only discovered this after having installed Tribunal, maybe that also has something to do with it.

Yup - that's one of the changes made in Tribunal.

May i disagree? I'm using it all the time and i still haven't been near the Tribunal. Just do remeber to look into the barter screen first to check the enchanter's gold (if yo don't all you'd pay just goes into the air).
Enchanters act as usual merchants, though, i.e. they do not pay the face value.

LOL! I have just clicked on the Dungeon Crawl link in Kameleons signature. The comic is very silly, a must for everybody who has played BG.

Wahey! Vote often! Every day! Like the rest of us! :p

Yeah, the comic is very funny - there's a thread in SYM devoted to it (actually, it's devoted to X-Men 2, but it got hijacked :p )

speaking of obscene enchantments...

constant effect telekenisis is too short a range, but a cast when used high value ring combined with a ring that casts the spell that opens chests is a great combo...

you aim the ring sorta like a ranged attack weapon, cast the spell, and before it wears out, you can cast your other ring, and poof! you have opened a chest literally dozens of feet away, while staying completely out of sight of the owner, then while the telekensis spell is still in effect, you can take all the goods...

and if your pickpocket skill is high, pickpocket someone from across the room, for the ultimate in magic enhanced robbery...

a ebony staff with constant effect levitation is just great, since all you need to fly is simply equip the weapon, and unequipp when you want to drop down...hmmm...i should combine levitation with invisibility...fly and be invisible..all at the same time...

should make me invulnerable to annoying cliff racers...

daedric items that fire small ranged damage health items will allow you to machinegun kill anything, and improves enchant skill too...fast...

two exquisite rings and amulet with chameleon makes you uber assassin...once you get that combo, the game is basically a walk thru...

restore health and fatigue makes you unkillable and run everywhere...

3x24=72
Add Cephalopod helm (20) and exquisite robe (8) and you'r going to have 100 :D

Invisibility is useless as soon as you have chameleon, IMHO.

almost forgot one i made before i sorta lost interest in morrowind for a while...

a limited charge ring, exquisite, that holds all 3 types of the detect spells...50 ft range,

so one use will detect monster, magic and keys in a 50 ft range, for about 5 seconds...highly highly useful, as you can use it to sweep for objects, enemies behind closed doors, and keys...

objects, this allows you to loot much more efficiently, you know where the loot is in your radar screen, and that girl who wants you to find her ring, this ring, i call radar, kept me from kicking the monitor in trying to find that stupid ring in the pond

keys, sounds useless, but remember that morrowind keys are useless with enchanted objects casting open lock spell, or good security skills and lockpicks, EXCEPT freeing slaves, they need the correct key, and i had some troubles finding some slave shackle keys once, and took steps...

monsters, well, this one is obvious, when you are in a deep park dungeon, and you want to know whats behind door number 3...

anyway, a good high value enchanted ring or amulet with the 3 detect spells, in a limited charge item, is just completely invaluable...i tried to set up a constant effect, but you get around like a 5 foot range, yeah, right...

I agree, though I don't need them to be constant effect. :D

Other than 50 ft detect spells in rings (I've got 100 ft Detect Enchantment from Imperial Cult, BTW), I also created following short range/time powerful (too costly to cast the spell) enchants:

-Telekinesis (forgot range. Maybe 25 ft, 10 sec or something)
-Chameleon 100% for 15 sec
-Open Lock 100 % in 10 ft range
(they are non-thieve specializing burglar's friends :D )

BTW, is there any good idea to enchant a bow?

I've got Auriel's Bow, that can be enchanted. I don't know the enchant point at the moment, though (I'm in my office).

I know, but I've already got the bow and want to enchant it. :D

I also got Auriel's Shield and a Daedric Helm (I can't remember the exact name) in Ghostgate towers. I can't decide what to do with them.

Anyway, the item would work only for the moment you were putting it on, not if it would show the movements of the hidden creatures.

the shields already enchanted in the game kinda suck...

you are so much better off going for that daedric shield in the vampire den golem galas(?) and enchanting it yourself...put a constant effect restore health, and even if you are using a two handed weapon, the heal effect is still active after equipping it...

daedric helms have a good high enchant point, best used as a constant effect item, pick something good, like fortify str or whatever...

the bow is simply almost a plain ebony bow, low enchant points, but good damage, a limited charge item is probably best, like a damage health ranged spell... use a saint, or vivec if you can swing it for maximum charges...

The best regular helms to enchant (100 pts) are those Telvanni Cephalopod Helms, BTW. I thought all knew it. It's rare, too, if you do not want to kill for it, however 4 i know about is enough to suit my needs.
Of course, there's Adamantium one (150) from plug-in.

is it just me, or if i have a smith repair a bound weapon i have due to a constant effect ring, when i unequipp ring, the weapon stays forever???

annoying, not a problem with bound boots, my game is fully patched, including tribunal and tribunal patch...pocking bethesda...

oh yeah,

new one...mephala skill spell gives you fortify attack spell, make item, this improves chances of a successful attack, so combined that with game option of making best attack always, you can inflict maximum damage due to the way i read in a faq about morrowind, you see, the game dont roll for damage, it depends on whether you hold axe back long enough to inflict max damage...as long as you use the weapon correctly, you inflict max damage, and with fortify attack, you can even have a low skill rating, and still hit high level creatures with weapons you have low skill in...

Just a thought, shouldn't this thread be stickied as well? The ideas and input from forum members justify the sticky tag! On par with Kameleon's thread, IMO.

What do you think?

you guys will like this one..

get boots of blinding speed...now most people will always use the armor of the savior's hide, which is great armor, especially if you play apprentice high elf, every spell will hit and stick on you...

but if you play atronach bretan, its almost redundant once you get necromancer's amulet, (either join the mage guild and do all the annoying quests, or simply taunt trebonius and kill him while using chameleon..hehhehehheheh...i mean the best loot in the mage guild is the staff and amulet..) you are pretty much invulnerable to magic...and wraithguard is just icing on the cake....

so if you want to use the boots and do not want to use the armor, get a soul gem with a saint, and get an exquisite ring, enchant with one point of levitation, and stuff it with night eye....

cause i found out about a year ago, enough night eye will allow you to see past the blinding effects, you see the boots make you blind, or makes it very very dark....

its dark....you think there may be a grue in the dark with you...

hhehehhehehheh

but this is the cool part, this ring with the boots will allow you to levitate over morrowind, move very fast, and still see and enjoy the boot's speed...

and to even save more enchantment points for night eye,

make the first spell effect, levitation, self from 0 to 1....

so you put the ring on, and you notice you are not levitating, simply unequip and reequip, and you re roll the spell....makes the levitation spell even cheaper in itemmaker...

and this thread deserves sticky status...
