A mimic is one of the trickier beasts that one crosses in DnD adventures. They often disguise themselves as treasure filled chests. And once an enemy takes the bait, the mimic sends its opponents in a stunned state as it attacks them with its 2 arms. They are typically easy to dispose of, but in the stunned state, you cannot attack it, so if you take the bait, expect to lose a few hitpoints until your group comes back to reality, so to speak. :D
