I've soloed an invoker mage through BGII and TOBh quite succesfully until now, and it was great fun. But now I get my chaotic good ass kicked by Melissan & especially by her baddies.
The problem is that all my former strategies (including wand of cloudkill if nothing else works) don't work. I do not have enough time to pierce her defenses and launch a magical attack (for four times in a row). My summoned planatar goes down way too quickly and my project images/sims get spotted right away. Also I do not enough wisdom to use Wish (I'm too stupid).
Please tell me someone has managed to bring her down with a mage, and how.

Welcome to GameBanshee!
I hope you will enjoy coming to this great community!
A fellow forum member, Kozivan, had soloed with a Wild Mage. You can follow his exploits in the link. There is also a Monks solo thread below which you can read. Alternatively, you may also like to do a search on this forum for other solo tales.
Good luck!
If possible you might want to go to amkethran and buy a potion which raises your wisdom..... To rest is a must when soloing a mage.......well it is possible to do it without resting but it''s ten times as hard.....Originally posted by GertBoersema

Solo Mage.
There are a *lot* of different tactics you can use. Best way is to choose one that matches your playing style. Do a 'search' upper right hand corner of the screen on 'solo', you'll find more information than you can probably use.
Good luck with it. Can be done, so far have soloed: sorcerer, monk, swashbuckler, working on a f/mu/t at the moment.
