I got the urge to play Morrowind again the other day but couldn't find the cd anywhere, and so I was thinking about picking up the expansion pack for it. So my question is, can you play Morrowind with the cd from the expansion pack?

No, unfortunately, you need the original Morrowind CD. However, the expansion is worth it - and they're not joking about the difficulty of the new areas.
