I would have to say... The shadow dragon was a big dissapointment, since he was dead after i feebleminded him once..... And the Demi-Lich was not as hard as everyone says, since after using mirror-image and spell immunity, he couldn't successfully cast inprisonment anymore... and isn't he supposed to be one of the top 5 hardest guys??

TWISTED RUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I killed Shangalar quickly with the mace of disruption with my fighter who had the shield of baldarun. I killed the fighter with a finger of death from anomen, Then lured the vampire, and took her out with a sun ray while she fought an aerial servant. Then equipped Valygar with acid arrows and he walked up to the mage and took her out. It was in Chap 2 and was soooo easy.

Irenicus is easy,if you have the right character fighting him,i.e. Keldorn wielding Carsomyr.I had the PC,a 20th level sorcerer,
face him in a one-on-one magical duel (guess
he wanted to prove once and for all who the
better wizard was).Even then Irenicus wasn't
much of a problem.Disappointing,considering
the spellcasting script he follows.
Absolute Immunity,Spell Shield,Spell Trap & Protection From Energy all at once, then a Spell Trigger - Monster Summoning 3,Globe Of Invulnerability,Mislead.Followed by both Fireshield Red and Blue at the same time.
Casts Timestop, then a Spell Sequencer of Spellstrike,Power Word Kill,Ice Storm. Another Timestop.Absolute Immunity again.
Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting.Power Word Kill
twice.Sunfire.Three Power Word Stuns.Three x Maze.Cone Of Cold x 5.Flame Arrow x 7.Acid Arrow x 7.Then what seems like unlimited Magic Missiles.
Given this, and the fact that the rules for his spellcasting went out the window,he should have been a lot more difficult. As it was,Keldorn flattened him in under a minute,
simply by repeatedly dispelling his magic protections. It did help though, that his first
Timestop got disrupted (Absolute Immunity has
no effect on +5 weapons).

Another very disappointing fight was the one with Balor, among the dwarves. The problem is that despite the apparent size of the area (which looks wide enough to hold four abreast), you're only allowed to move single file. This means that when Balor appears, your fighters have to be nearest to him, because otherwise he stuns many of your party into immobility, leaving those furthest away unable to approach him.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Single file??? When Balor appeared I had my guys facing from N to S, and I could get them at least 3 abreast. If you put everyone in the Balor room then there's tons of room for standing abreast. If you kept them by the door, well that's your fault for choosing such a poor position for taking on a single foe
Now Balor was possibly one of the toughest fights I had, first time through. I went for Imoen ASAP, and found myself massively unequipped. in the end I beat Balor after completing everything else in the Underdark that I could, then slapping every magical protection and bonus I could on my one Ranger holding a ring of Free Action and a lot of healing potions, guarded by 5 fodder monsters who kept Balor busy
That was a happy day

Nope. You're thinking of Balor's immediate vicinity. I had my group positioned around the central peak of the circular room, and one of my two leads (melee types), clicked to invoke Balor. Everybody else was apread out in semi-circular fashion around that peak.If you put everyone in the Balor room then there's tons of room for standing abreast. If you kept them by the door, well that's your fault for choosing such a poor position for taking on a single foe...
When Balor appeared, he stunned the last four members of my group. My first two folk, my fighters, couldn't get at him--it was impossible for either to get around the single file semi-circle. They were helpless. I had to reload, change the order of personnel, and then have my mage clock to invoke the demon.
After that, it was relatively easy to dispatch Balor. While my kensai/mage and Korgan bashed the hell out of the guy, Edwin used spells to eliminate his protections. Jaheira and Viconia used defensive spells like Defensive Harmony to up our chances. I had Jaheira invoke a fire elemental to help as well, but Balor stunned it, and Jan, too.
Still, it didn't take long at all...once my people were standing appropriately. The only area that allowed them to gang up was to the southeast, where Balor appeared.
