Certain factions' favourite skills include Blunt Weapon (Imperial Cult is one, I think).

That's the only thing I can think at the moment. I'm in my office. Haven't got the game here. :D

Not at all. As short blade as well. There's some differences is speed not completely explained, however. Then, as Minerva noted quite right, there are factions prefering one or another weapon, that's the reason all types of weapon have very close potential (assuming one has sufficient skill), even spears (IMHO the poorest class of weaponry in the game). So religious factions - Temple and Cult - prefers Blunt, Redorans and Fighters - long Blade, and so on. As soon as you may want to have some skill high enough to match the requirements you're going to developt it. Of course, you may choose another class of skills instead of weapon skill.
Blunt together with Long Blade have the most devasting weapon examples, however they are slower than, say, Short Blade, and in fact you can do the same damage in same amount of the time. Altogether with hammer or sword you may do that damage in one hit while dagger would require several. However you may miss that one, too :D And the weapon with most enchantment points is Ebony Staff, mages may consider it.

Yes, it holds 90 enchantment points (CE +18 STR or INT, for example). No weapon has so mach, at least in standard Morrowind. BTW, Wizard Staff you may have needed and other rich enchanted staffs almost all look like Ebony.

In my opinion Staff of Magnus is the coolest, and looks like real staff of magi should. :D

It's the shame they haven't invented the two weapon style, isn't it?

The mod for 2 weapons is the dual wield mod. And one of the weapons is a shield.
