"Is busy and cannot initiate dialogue"-???

I use Windows XP, I think this might have the problem. Sometimes I also get an error message and it crashes to the desktop.

But what mostly annoys me is when I get a "XXX is busy and cannot talk to you." its happened with my familiar (i play a half-elf fighter/mage), ribald and aerie. and it does get annoying.

if there are any patches at all that can fix this, could someone post me a link or something?

That's a known XP problem
download the latest patch
