the earwig spell casts sound at target... does sound spell have any use at all???

except to make people hostile....i just noticed if you cast it at a npc, it makes them hostile, since you are targetting them with a spell, but since it does not hurt them, you wont get kicked out of the church or whatever...

but really, i mean the spell description sounds like its for mage thieves, to distract guards while you sneak around, but it dont work like that at all...

in fact it does nothing...anybody uses the spell???

Nope - it's one of the spells I never use, since making it really effective takes a lot of magicka.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Doesn't the sound spell disrupt the spell casting of the target? A heavy dose of sound might be a way to defeat that tough lich in the Mournhold underground for example.

I have never casted the spell...I am wondering, do you actually hear the sound?

well, some of the store bought sound effect spells center on the caster....so i thought it was suppose to provide a distraction, so the guard looks away and you can haul the loot away without getting caught...

but my technique consists of using chameleon, talking to the guard so they face you, then hijacking the good loot...

i think silence spell should disrupt spell casting, but to my experience, the best spell casting disrupter, just like in bg2, is whacking the mage fast,,,,shortblade is best for this...

being whacked on sure messes up my spellcasting....

Uncle, it was the Silence, IMHO. The poor wife just has got so used to complain that she never paid any attention if anybody hears her - herself including ;)

i made a soultrap and silence and sound ring....

completely disables spell casting...i suppose i should make some more testing rings to see which is more powerful...i suspect they equally are....

they cost the same....with zeroed out variables, so like levitation, you either have sound in your target or not...

more sound, the more chances for success,,,but maybe not...
