how do you get vivec to "invite" you in? i haven't a real need to get to him (theres no sidequest i've encountered yet), but i have been in before (in other off saved games) and when i talk to him he always says something along the lines of 'you came here uninvited...so whats the deal...how do i get 'invited"?

I understand this might be a spoiler; so if you could private message me or something it'd be appreciated.

If you go through main quest long enough, you should be invited to speak with Vivec. Either that or start dodging ordinators.

There are two ways i know about. The one is regular in course of main storyline, the other almost the same but skipping about half of prophecies. The other becomes available with high enough reputation, AFAIK. There might be also the 3rd, 4th...

Try pick the lock, it's just 100. You may mess the things, of course, if you do it too early, and possibly lose lot of events, but it's up to you.

what happens after you kill vivec to harvest his soul????

you see, i always accept wraithguard, then kill vivec....

nobody even notices i kill vivec...

but if you kill him without accepting wraithguard, do you get kicked out of the temple, or do people even know you killed vivec???

only if you talk about alemsi (?) in talk topics can you say i killed vivec...

but if you go the back way to activate wraithguard, are there any consequences to killing vivec without accepting wraithguard????

of course, you all know me,,,,i came up with a cheesy way to not have to worry about activating wraithguard my first run thru....hehhehehhehe

So, let me see if I understand this correctly...
If you go into Vivec's dughole uninvited, then you ruin a lot of events???
Or, if you kill Vivec ???

mondo spoilers...

if you get elected horator and nevarine, an option in the quest is to not accept wraithguard from vivec, and kill him...

since his soul if you soul trap with grand soul gem has 1000!!!! charges, its tempting...

but you must be nevarine and horator to finish the main quest if you do this...you get a unknown dwemer artifact instead of wraith guard, and u need to talk to the last dwarf and get some books off ash vampire lairs to have him activate it for you...and it almost kills you anyway...

say, does any blatant cheater know the console code for additem a grand soul gem with vivec in it????

a bunch of items with 1000 charges...now thats cheating!!!

bu this is the first ive heard of not coming in to visit him before getting invited causing trouble...

i get invited, get wraithguard, then kill him...and soul trap him...

I used to kill Vivec as a matter of course; I hate the nerevarine and hortator quests in the main quest, so I'd always take the backpath route to avoid having to deal with them.

They changed a lot of Vivec's dialogue in Tribunal, though. Now... well, the old boy has made all the reforms I could have wanted, he's no longer a god, and he's alone with his lifetime of work in pieces scattered around him. I just can't kill him anymore.

and cj, you would know this, how does tes handle soul gems with soul's inside???

can you console command up a vivec soul gem???

ive been playing with tes, and i modified some jewelry from a mod, to have 750 enchant points on it, and found out hey, the enchant points of the enchantment you are using must be less than the soul gem (even golden saints!!!) charge...so 500 is about the most enchantment points you should have...
