Crystal Golems

Post by Stilgar »

Damn these guys are tough,
Most of the times I rely on my spellcasters to do the damage, but that doesn't seem to have much effect.
Any advice on how to kill these guys (or girls ;) )?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I usually use +X crushing weapons IIRC, and a fighter with expertise, that way I don't *take* hits. Then others can pile in if they have any damaging weapons - the ones not defending can do serious damage with power attacks.

Something I found out on myself:

Piercing weapons don't work
Slashing don't
Magic doesn't

But BLUNT weapons do wonders!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I'm with Grunt on this. Those crystal golems resemble the golem crew in BG2: they only respond well (well meaning reduced to rubble or shards) to major blunt trauma. They're magic-resistant, and laugh at piercing or slashing weapons for the most part.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Arrows of Impact work wonders, as well as keeping you out of harms reach ;)

Sling and bullets are great for the job, and considering that you add the strenght bonus to damage, in the hand of a strong char. they can deal a lot of blunt damage: just have some summons to take the damage and hit the golem from distance.

I tried this, but I don't seem to get a strenght bonus when using slings.
