Perfect party
Perfect party
Ok, I just started a new game, havn't played it at all, so now is the time to make changes. Please make suggestions.
I have:
wild elf sorceror, I was gonna keep him a sorc the whole way
Human ranger, multi to rogue for rest of game, maybe include one level of barb
human monk of broken ones, to multi to cleric at ??
sheild dwarf true fighter
half orc true barbarian
human wizard to dual to fighter later, should i delete and start him as a fighter??
Anyways, suggestions please.

1) ok for sorcerer, keep him pure, consider also Aesimar.
2) ok, but start it as rogue (you get much more skill points), then as you like give him one lev. of ranger and/or barb./bard and/or two lev. of fighter (up to your liking). consider also another race (halfling or tiefling, they both have some good advantage);
3) pure cleric, don't loose lev. with it, you need the cleric to be the highest lev. possible for healing and summoning undead (higher the lev. stronger the undead). Also he will be using heavy armour so no bonus of wis to Ac, so the only bonus is evasion, it's not worthy the loss af one lev.
4)ok, maybe add a coupple of lev. of Palladin for the class bonuses and the option to use a certain item for paladin only;
5)ok, consider 4 lev of fighter for weap. spec.
6)Arghhh! wiz and fighter don't fit!! A spellcaster needs lev., the higher the more effective are his spells, so if you want to mc, do it for only very few lev, if the bonus of the other class conensate the loss of lev. What benefit gives a fighter to a wiz? none, he wan't melee, so if you want mc a wiz. for me the option are rogue, two lev. for evasion or better monk one lev. for evasion and higher movement rate (don't consider the bonus to ac, is very unlikely that an efficient built for a wiz can have max Int, max Dex, high Con and also high wis), but remember that an extra wiz. lev is almost always a better option.

Damn, you took the words out of my mouth ... any party that is not actually designed to be substandard will do. Some people prefer melee, others spellcasting. Some have many ecl chars, others don't. In the end end it doesn't matter if your fighter deals 30 or 28 max damage, it only matters if you enjoy playing the party.Originally posted by Gruntboy

I took a look at HoF equipment with Dale Keeper 2, not sure if melee is such a bad idea. Another question is if a party should be played with HoF in my mind. On the other hand, I've played BG1 with BG2 in mind ...Originally posted by Rahvin
yea, by perfect I meant "good" but whateverI like melee, but from what I hear they suck in HoF so I made a mainly spellcaster group

Monsters have hundreds of hp and deal enormous amount of damage, so summons are better to take damage and magic is more effective than iron (expecially enchantment spells);
I think so, some built for HoF are probably not so effective in normal, typically the extreme ECL classes are penalized in normal, but shine in HoF.

can you create worlds with dalekeeper? (i didn't seem to have a world creation icon in my dalekeeper...)
No, you can't; you can only edit your stats and items with it, not create worlds. I think Team BG toolset allows you to do it. They have two mods for Icewind Dale, but none yet for IWD2. You may like to take a look here
