I think so, but to be honest I've never done that. You might try pick-pocketing the body back if Tolgeiras is still there. I know it sounds strange but sometimes this works.

If you want to CLUA the body in the item name is "MISC7L".

No. His body is the key. Doesn't matter whether he's alive.

You can also use shadow keeper to edit Valygar's body back into your game.

Without cheating, is there a way to complete the planar sphere quest if you've turned Valygar's body over to the Cowled Wizards?
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

What Stilgar said. It's a side-quest, not part of the main, so there are no multiple "keys" to success. Entry is denied without Valygar. Typically, I kept him in my party just long enough to open the door, because I didn't care much for him and he did little for my party.

That's the problem,
when I play a good party (and I almost always do) I can't kill him for rollplaying reasons, but sometimes I just don't want him in my team (although he's a very good NPC with a realy cool class and some good personal items, but not very intresting), so then I just take him, and dump him after he opens it up.

The weird thing is, I never turned him in, not even for rollplaying reasons,
when you play good, you help him,
and when you play evil you kill him, and see what their is to loot in the sphere before you turn him in.

But I would just edit in the body, okok it's (a little) cheating, but the quest is realy worth it, and you get one of the parts for one of the best weapon in the game inside.

or just forget to include vaygal in the area of effect of a protection from evil 10ft radius then summon a pit fiend...

ahhahahahhahahahhahhahahhah.......

he is worth keeping for a little while...

with the tactic mod, you need him to go whack the gnomish illusionist in his house in the docks, i think...

and you can use him to get 3 rings of ram..

pickpocket torgalis when you first get to the gov district...

get vaygar and keep him in the party until you open the door to the sphere, then leave....

feed him to pit fiend..yummy yummy...

turn his body in for reward...

note, this cheese has been reported to not always work....
They call me Darth...
