REALLY dumb question from newbie

Hi i know this is the dumbest question but i only started playing morrowind yesterday. anyway i managed to pick up a key for a door (cant remember which one) but i dont know how to use the key.

the lock is too tough for me to pick and i dont know how to equip a key. i tried dragging it over the picture of my character like the way you equip the lockpick but that didnt work. How do you use a key???

I'm not sure, but I think all you need to do is just have the key and the corresponding door will open when you press the space key.

That is correct. When you try to open a locked door and you have the key in your pocket, you will automatically use the key. Just open the door like you would open an unlocked door. If it won't open, you don't have the right key.

ok thanks guys i must not have the right key then... im still getting the hang of this game but on my first impressions this game is awesome... the playing world is so large and detailed and the graphics are the best I have seen for an RPG

The only problem is the game is so large that I keep getting lost.. oh well u cant have everything
