Druid and armour

I was just wondering about my Druid Who wears heavy armour, because it seems like she gets pounded on pretty easy. She has like ac 23 to 25. But is their a penalty for wearing heavy armour?

There is a penalty if you wear heavy armor when you're not skilled in it (and druids aren't from the start)

But once you get skilled in heavy armor, it doens't matter.
