Well, i'm 29 yo guy come from land of turmoil and instability. Got lots of corrupion, Cronyism and Nepotism down here. Bah, the situation makes me very very hard to upgrade my hardware these says since PC hardware realy rip my wallet off. The other bright side is I can happily get pirated games with low price....
I started gaming way when i was 13 yo.....play lots of games (Eye of Beholer 1-3, might and magis series, Dune series, Battle Tech - incl. crescenthawks revenge, diablo etc.) Mostly i'm noiw ploying RPGS and RTS.
Anyone care to guess where i came from ?

Bordin.... I'll get right on that... although my current project is reimplimenting the client side aiming code for half-life. =) i've got 300,000+ lines of .asm code to look through.... It would have been nice to have a little smarter NPC's in the game... make that hamster a genius and we'd be sitting pretty.. =)

Hehe, that sounds promising Rev Image

Btw, is it hard to work with A.I.? Sorry that I'm not writing as long a reply as I use to (and sorry for my language Image), but I had something kind of a "warm up" party at school today, so I'm kinda full right now... Just wanted to check the msg. board Image

Skara Brae? seems to me that is ultima you played. I am 41 and playing for about 14 years; stil enjoy rpg very much. Have seen good games, but BG2 beats them Image

Actually,I was wondering myself about the same these last few days. There is a Skara Brae in Ultima IX and this name seemed familiar. So i performed some research and i can confirm that Bard's Tale 1 took place in a city with the same name!
Is it the same town? They definetely do not look the same in these two games.
By the way,i also found out that it was written by Interplay Productions. Is this the same company as Interplay ?

Well, I'm 33 and have been playing RPGs since about 1981, started with AD&D on paper, then moved via my commodore 128 to an Amiga, lands of lore etc, might and magic 3,4,5 & Dungeon Master, Pools of Radiance etc.
Then got a PC, Dungeon master 2, might & magic 6,7,8, Baldurs gate 1&2 & Icewind Dale.
Most of my youth was ill spent role playing but sice hitting 30 I've got majorly into fitness. Also sice being about 20 odds girls have also curtailed my role playing as lets face it, the ladies generally are not into PC games!.
I'm a staff trainer from the land of Haggis, kilts and rotten weather (Scotland).

Bordin, AI isn't that bad to work with although patience is the most important aspect. If you're looking for more info about AI and esp. gaming AI, check out http://www.gameai.com it is the definitive source on the web. It's pretty cool stuff. The funnest project I've worked on is taking the Pac-Man game and making a pac-bot that will always win, (using look-ahead algorithms, and path-finding.)
The site discusses the NPC AI for BG I,

BG 1 AI </A>..

Thx Rev, gotta check those sites, maybe I'm going to be an A.I. compiler, then I'm gonna make some smart npc's for BGIII or some smart bots for HL:Counterstrike... Or maybe I make nothing like that Image (more likely that I'm not going to make something like that Image) But you'll never know...

I started PnP with the original D&D. I remember when the first Monster Manual came out. We used our own dungeons and alot of graph paper, there were no modules. Zork on the 5.25 as well. Ancient history, until BG2 caught my attention. Now I am doomed to repeat it!
