About Extra spells per level 4 Imoen, Edwin and PC

Post by Khellian »

I have a few questions!
Does Edwin get more spells per lvl due to his amulet? if so, how many?
Does Imoen get more spells per lvl due to her belt? if so, how many, and when? (in my game she got +1 spell / lvl at lvl 9, then she left with Irenicus, haven´t got her back) how about you?
Does the PC get more spells per lvl du to being a child of Bhaal? If so, when, where? (In my game, my conjurer got +1 spell per lvl at clvl 9 or 10 (i think it was) in addition to +1 for being a specialist)!

please respont thoughts and the like!

Thanx // Khellian

Yes, the amulet grants Edwin 2 extra spells per level as well as the +1 spell per level for being a specialist (Conjurer). So he really has +3 spells per level, which make him the best mage NPC in the game. Only downside is that he's a specialist, which means he can't identify things, even with a scroll! Oh well, at least Imoen will when you get her back. On a side note, doing the nether scroll quest for edwin increases his lore rating ALOT, which means you can identify most magical items without an identify scroll / spell.

I believe that Imoen gets only one extra level 1 and level 3 spell. At least she does in my game. I have her and Nalia in my group right now, and they are both level 13. They are almost identical in every way except for a few stats, which have absolutely nothing to do with spell casting. Oh, and her belt is only there for the first dungeon, when you rescue her, it's no longer there. Alot of people on another BG2 message board speculated that it granted her immunity so that when you emerged from the dungeon, she would still be captured. Try it, if she comes close to being killed, either by you or by sending her into an impossible fight, she just takes off on her own.

As for actually being a mage, I haven't a clue. As far as I know, being a mage should follow the tables in the back of the manual. If not, why are they there?
