Sir Anomen???
Sir Anomen???
I have seen a few people refer to a sir anomen, does he become a Paladin? if so how and when? I dont see how he can as he is lawful neutral and a paladin has to be lawful good, Strange
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.
He ecomes a knight, not necessarily a paladin, if you have him in the group, just make sure he sticks to the knight's code of honor and he'll eventually become a knight.

And his wisdom increases from 12 to 16 (in red numbers).I believe the game favors Anomen (is he the only NPC that his statistics improve or not?)
I think in order Anomen become a knight you must advice him not to avenge his sisters death with no solid proof-this act is determined by a paladin's alignment:to be lawful good.Strange thing is,he is not considered in the game a paladin but a knight ("Sir"). He keep saying "I'll become a knight of the order" (he is not using the word paladin).Since he is a cleric (and lawful neutral, not good) it seems that the only thing needed to be a knight of the Order is to be a human. The rest is up to the Order: they will judge your actions.

A paladin can turn undead, but I belive his turning level matches his clerical spell casting level. So, at a level 17 paladin is only as good at turning undead as a level 9 priest. He may scare a few away, destroy a few weak ones, but nothing like the mass destruction a level 21 priest can do.
Someone more familiar with the PnP game (or with the books) can probably fill in the details here. It is something that should have been in the game manual but was left out.

In some old CRPGs (like the Ravenloft series) the manual describes the paladin ability to turn undead as "A paladin turns undead as if he were a cleric two levels lower in experience".That means that if he were level 16,he turns undead like a level 14 cleric.
The above mentioned games also used 2nd edition AD&D rules.
This also applies in BG2.If you have a kavalier or an undead hunter (not Keldorn-he is an inquisitor-->no turn undead ability) and look at his statistics there is a line "Turn Undead Level".This number is always two points lower than the current level of the paladin.
