With Charisma being a notoriously under-used stat in BG, is it any use to memorize Friends?

Can anyone confirm stores giving discounts to Charismatic characters? I can confirm Reputation, but not Charisma.

The thing stacks, so Charisma 25 is within reach of just about any wizard. But what does it get you?

Not my personal experience, but I read somewhere that with a high charisma you get a significant reduction in prices from the bonus merchants.

I will try it out tonight!
