halfings armor and ranger armor and monk/mage
can halflings wear heavy armor or are they restricted to light and or medium?
is there any peniatlies to rangers wearing heavy armor?
and would a monk/mage be good because they won't need the armor or weapons?

about the halfing thing, I don't remember, but IIRC, they can if the halfling is proficient with it...
rangers wearing heavy armor lose the feats they gain if they wear light or medium armor (IIRC the feats are two weapon fighting and blind fight), so don't get yoor ranger to wear heavy armor.
and IIRC, it's not so bad to multiclass a monk to a mage, though i wouldn't do that
