I've got this problem where my character is absolutely worthless, but there is no reason why she should be. She is level 12, has swordsmanship stats of 50, glass armor. Yet any time I fight ANYTHING, I get my butt handed to me. It is getting annoying because the Tribunal expansion has me getting attacked everytime I sleep outside a city.
Any suggestions? My character is a theif by nature, and an Imperial (can't beat the Imperials born under the Lady )
Also, question about the Tribunal, does this pack make your non-specialized skills level your character up? Each time I read a book, it tells me to level, but I want to maximize my stats, so I wait, and train skills I don't care about.
Last question, can anyone recommend any mods that make the NPC'c who follow you NOT be retarded and run off in seemingly random directions? And as I am on the subject of walking, know of a mod that makes my character walk instead of saunter, and run instead of walk.
Thanks for you time
I need some help, suggestions, advice, etc.

are you using the weapon you have the most skills in??? if you use a weapon you have too low a skill in, you wont hit anything at all....make sure your skills with a weapon are at least 30-50 if you plan to use it...and are you at skill 50 for short sword or long blade? skill in long blade wont help with daggers, and skill in short blade wont help with longswords and dai katanas...also, do you have at least silver or better weapons? some creatures, like undead laugh at steel...(immune to normal weapons...silver or better needed...)

no, you only level up with major or minor skills..if you get the message, you have already got 110% or better skill improvements necessary to level up to the next level...now i know you want to max attribute gain, but generally speaking, with about 75 level being possible in the game, you will be able to raise all the important attributes you care about to 100 with little effort, and if not, making enchanted exquisite rings amulets with constant effect items can more than make up any lack you want...so do some resting...

try using levitation or jump spells to get on top of a giant mushroom tree or building, then rest...most of the time the annoying gits will spawn below you, so you can then use ranged attacks or destruction spells to fry them without taking damage...their ranged attack is a joke...

well, the npc's ai is a joke, just make sure you get the "heal companion" spell from the temple in balmora, and use the spell often, or make an item that can cast a ranged heal spell...this way you can keep critical nps alive....
also, press the "always run" button whenever you load your game,,,you are missing out on improving athletic skills if you dont do this...

the most overpoweringly powerful sign and race is breton atronach...the lady is kinda overrated, especially since you can find in dagon fell a artifact that gives you better bonuses than the lady, and the emperor's voice and star of the west are both rather lame....the disadvantage of the atronach sign can easily be power gamed....use alchemy and int boosting potions you make to boost your int to obscene levels, then make magicka restore potions that will last for days and regenerate magicka at an obscene rate...

i was wonderign about that combo, how does the breton's spell resistance stack w/ atronach's absorbtion?

and back to the original question, fatigue may be the factor, i'm slowly learning that running around jumping and then rushing in to attack is not the recipe for success.

Alright, thanks to those whom answered, some of the advice was new, and thereby useful. I decided to just take the few points of loss and gain all my levels (not trying to maximize all the stats). This made the fighting thing easy.
Unfortunately, my thief inadvertantly came clean of all wrongdoings, when a moronic NPC walked into the path of my sword as I was attacking someone else. This cause me to have committed a crime, which I was sent to jail for. This of course lowered all my good skills, and of course I had the White Woe, and a nice set of Glass, which are no longer in my possession.
Now, I am just looking for a way to make some quick, easy money. My mom always told me there was no such thing as quick and easy money, so I am testing that claim.
Also, I remember from when I was playing this game a year ago, that there was a glass dagger that had soultrap on hit, can any one recollect where I might find that little beauty?
Thanks again to those who replied to the original posting.

If you are the dishonest sort, you can steal them back

Again, I highly recomend pilfering.

Sorry, can't recall, but why would you want to enchant a dagger with soul trap? Typically daggers are best for assasinations, not fighting beasties. Soul trap does not work on humanoids. Better to get a nice sword annd enchant it with soutrap cast when strikes
