I'm a HUGE fan of BG I & II and TOTSC and TOB... I'm wondering if I should buy NWN. At one point I know they were going to allow you to import your BG II characters, I understand now that you cannot. Is the game set up, like BG I & II, so that I can create up to six of my own characters and play them? I really like the idea of creating and playing my own characters... I usually only use three of my own, and then get three additional npc's. So, can I do that with NWN? Also, in Dungeon Siege, there's a siege editor where I can create my own maps to play...kinda cool... does or will NWN have that? If so, where can I get it?
Thanks in advance!!
To buy, or not to buy....

NWN is kinda like Diablo. You have a main character, and thats really it. Oh, you can hire only ONE henchmen at a time, too, but you can't really control them.
The single player campaign isn't really good (I've had the game for about 6 months, and I just stopped 2/3rds through).
However, the multiplayer is awesome, and the toolset is fun to use. If you find a good server with good DMs, you'll have a blast.
My take: only buy if you can get it cheap.

If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

Yes - you can create own modules, and if you dig a little deeper in NwNs possibility you can create very advanced modules.

If you like BG(2) and like creating more then one party member, try Icewind Dale(IWD) (II)
It's just like BG (using the same engine) but now you can create all you're party members yourself.
Also it's a little more difficult (harder fights)
It's realy a good game especially IWD2.
As fir neverwinter nights,
I don't liek it that you play alone, and the interface bothers me.

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
NWN is a good game and all, but it really lacks in one big area that BG2 was brilliant in, namely NPC interaction..... this is mostly due to the fact that you only ever have one NPC on your team(+summon+familiar) and if you miss the quest in the the first chapter there aint much more interaction between you and your NPC...... This is however only true in Single player games..... in multi player NWN is truly awesome....so if you intend playing on the net then buy it otherwise Icewind dale II might be a better choice.... of Planescape torment

Great! Thanks for the info...unfourtanately I don't have time to play on the net... I only get to play every couple weeks or so... full time job and full time college student so schedule doesn't permit much play time. I already have IWD and the expansion pack...don't like it very much though. If only there was a way to create my own mods for BGII....that is SUCH an awesome game... I just get bored of playing it all over again from the start.... Oh well, at least I can create my own mods for Dungeon Siege.
Thanks for the info everyone! I think I'll skip NWN..

Lots of people do work on BG2 mods (including me). You could try such places as Forgotten Wars Studios (where WeiDU mods are made) or TeamBG (where TeamBG mods are made).
