The Political Compass

Post by The Z »

Take this test and check what they think is your political compass:

This is the compass

Image

This is what I got:

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.46

I think that means I'm socialist.

While I do find the test and its scales a bit flawed my score is:

Economic Left/Right: -8.12
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.28

That puts me on the Libertarian left.

Funny thing is, I didn't try to fake out the test. I guess that, deep down, I'm really a Molotov-****tail throwing revolutionary, albeit a rather nice, courteous one, who wouldn't harm a soul if he could. :)

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8.31

This is what I got, whoa I am so left wing, I am almost all the way down far to the left on the chart.
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."

Which is ALSO Libertarian Left....seems like we in SYM think a lot alike...which is odd to me. :D

But everyone being compared to Gandhi, thats a good thing. :D

I DO notice that my negatives seem to be lower then everyone elses (with the exception of James Mason and Weasel), which means Im more of a fascist then everyone else. But I dont quite fall into that quadrent, so lets not jump to conclusions. ;)

@Tyb, only on the economic part.
I do think it is kind of odd we're all landing in the same quadrant. Are we all just similar thinkers or is the test in some way faulty?

I can say, not the test. ;)

I saw some Far Far Far Right people ping it in the opposite direction.

It's only a coincidence that the right wingers haven't taken the test yet. Just wait til our laissez-fair capitalists Lazarus and Scayde shows up ;)

Still, I have a hard time to think someone will score high on the authorative scale. I mean who would actually strongly agree with "It's fine for women to have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers." nowdays?

Well if anyone did agree with that I doubt they would have either the nerve or stupidity to admit it anywhere around here :D
