Stronghold Lost ?!?

I completed the quest to clear Nalia's Keep of trolls and other assorted baddies, and I thought that's all I needed to do to acquire the stronghold. But after reading some of the previous posts on this subject, I get the sense that I missed some conversation that I was supposed to have.

Can anyone provide a little insight into what I can/should do next? Also, what does having the stronghold buy me?

First of all, you have to be some type of fighter/barb, etc. Second, you have to have killed the one troll in the dungeon and approached the alter which was behind the troll where Nalia launches into a conversation about her father. After this, you go outside, where Nalia should talk about her problems in having to marry and such and this is where you gain the Stronghold.

CrownHead, Thanks for the info.

I am a fighter, so that's covered. But I don't have Nalia in my party...I couldn't bear to part with anyone (Minsc, Korgan, Yoshimo, Aerie, Jaheira) for what I knew was going to be a nasty battle with the golems.

Does not having Nalia in the party ruin my chances here?

Go talk to Nalia if she's not in your party. She should give you the option to gain the stronghold

Stronghold Gained!!

After going back to speak with Nalia, and having no success, I decided to drop Korgan (a tough choice, but for a good cause) and pick up Nalia to see if that might work. That did the trick!

Actually, I had to trek back to the Keep and go through the little ceremony before I got the keys, but it was worth the trip.
