Non-caster Solo

Post by Graeye »

Has anyone successfully done a solo with no casting abilities? I just tried it as a Swashbuckler (thief) and it was just an exercise in frustration. I was CLUAing so many heal potions, I finally just gave up on it at Lvl 14. Had I been able to use Fire and Cloudkill wands, I might have been able to pull it off; with just a couple of swords, I was f'ing helpless!

Monk has been soloed many times.

Archer and Barbarian have also been done, although they are much harder than the monk.

I found the swashbuckler to be one of the better solo classes. And one that can beat the final ToB battle alone. As a monk I was not able to do that.
Archer was a bit difficult solo I thought. Kensai was easier than I expected, especially in ToB.
Try the swashie again and don't forget that you can hide in shadows!!!

Tried to solo a thief, but somewhere in the underdark it got so boring I gave up. Backstabbing is nice but not for an entire game.
Soloing with any form of fighter isn't that hard though, and nice enough to do imho.

That's why the swashie is a good choice. It is a little bit of both!
