With a 36K modem, I don't think I'll even attempt to download that trailer! :( ;)

But I am looking forward to the film. I liked the first one very much. The story was OK - but the visual dimension to the film was really quite amazing. Very beautiful. :) And Hugo Weaving was very cool.

Peace.

I think the original was really overrated. It was an SFX vehicle, with stunning visuals and some great scenes, but IMO not much more. A big budget, SFX laiden action movie.

I'd rather the similar but far superior Dark City any day.

You can call me a sucker for SFX, big budget, action laden movies then. Like Blade. And Blade 2. And The Matrix. :D :D

BTW - The trailer made me drool almost as much as The Two Towers did :D

Now there's a fine movie. I tend to view the Matrix as a nerds action movie, but the hype is slowly getting to me. So I'll have to see it naturally ;)

Oh, alright. *dons flameproof suit* ;)

I saw The Matrix, thought the special effects were well done, and thought that the actor who portrayed The Program did a good job (same guy who portrayed Elrond in LoTR). Other than that, it suffered from a good dose of cheesiness.

Kinda like Blade 2. In fact, that one was even cheesier that The Matrix. Disappointing after the original Blade, which I rather liked immensely. :D

My wife and I looked at one another and broke out laughing at the incredibly bad and unbelievable script. It was kind of like Jon Derek's Tarzan, in that regard, for us. Oh, well. De gustibus. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Oh my. The one where Bo Derek protrayed Jane...the focus of the movie, of course. ;)

Script? There was a script?

I don't watch The Matrix for the script but for the special effects...... that's where I feel the Matrix really is strong....

I'm with Morlock on this one, Dark City is fantastic while The Matrix is basically a Hollywood Kung Fu movie with lots of pretty moves.

The next one is going to be incredible in comparison, the first was made for about 40 million this one is budgeted at 300 million.

They made their own 2 mile freeway for the movie, it took them about 4 months to film the scenes.

It should be spectacular but I don't give the plot much hope ;)
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

I thought that it was ok. The main problem is that the underlying rational is ****ed - which ruins the movie after you are told of it.
I didn't really bounce Eeyore. I had a cough, and I happened to be behind Eeyore, and I said "Grrrr-oppp-ptschschschz."

Well, I saw it. And was blown away. :D :D :D

I really loved the movie. I loved most of the special effects, obviously, and I can't wait to find out want happens in the Revolutions.

Saw it, nice special effects deserve an Oscar for it no doubt. But man, talk about a confusing script, especially trying to cram in so much information during the second half.

I saw it last night, and wasn't overly impressed. Like many movies these days, it was too focused on CG, and that was the only positive aspect of the movie. The plot was weak, and badly written, as Fable has already said, and left far too much unexplained. Also, much of the what was said, or even done, seemed to be nothing more then filler (the sex scene, the dancing in Zion, the battle with the Agent's Smith). It doesn't really make me want to see the final one.
