Can't make the fake brew

I retrieved the fake root, I even made the Wyvern poison, but I can't make the fake brew. I can't even coerse the guy in the lab to do it. When I talk to him, I get one option, to say, "wait...." and then the conversation ends. What else do I need to do besides put the root on the westernmost table by my Wizard with a 17 alchemy and then pull the lever in the room to the north?

Could you be a little more specific, like what chapter are you in and where. Not noing for me makes it difficult, but I do have a Prima's official strategy guide. I could make good use of it if only I new..........

If you have this high an alchemy score, you don't need the alchemist doing it for you, you can do it yourself. Place the root and pull the lever (the bottom one). I remember though that I had a lower alchemy score (12 or so) and couldn't make the brew myself. So I intimidated the alchemist there and all I got was "wait... you have to understand it takes time" or something like that. I remember running around like mad until one time finally it happened (can't say how). It could be that resting did it for me (I remember him walking into the lab, but never seeing him leave it). Could be he has to pull the lever himself. Hope any of this helps.

First, Patrick, where else in the game besides Dragon's eye do you make Fake Brew? Think before you make a useless post such as this.

Second, Aremah, I tried the resting thing. I rested 3 times to make sure a full day went by, and when I went into the lab the lights were flashing over the tables and I was sure the brew would be there, but it was just the fake root.

At first I thought it wasn't working because while my wizard placed the root I sent my Fighter with the Boots of Speed to pull the lever. So I had the Wizard do both and nothing happened. I went and talked to the guy that sent me on this quest once again and told him about the library and still nothing.

I think I may run back to Kulduhar and sell all the loot I have (my gem bags and potion cases are full as are my inventories), and see what happens when I get to the lab....

It is useless to resist

First I don't believe me post are Useless.
Second Given the times I had to wait for answers before on this forum, sometimes timing is critical.
Third I should have known it was dragons eye but to be honest, The game is like one big blur to me and I don't fully have the Black Isle Universe down to a t. yet.
Forth would you at least agree with me for clarities sake that it could be more versitile for people who don't know that you post the chapter #
Forgive me if I'm wrong, But you probably arn't evil anyway......
