Wacky Shields

Whats with the weird shield designs in BG2?
I'm still waiting to get the game, but no one has it, and it's going to take about a month for anywhere to order it in.

So i'm addicted to screenshots atm, and the shields look really freaky. Is there a reason for the more exotic look to the game?

I've also seen some kind of skull helmet. Gah, I want the game now.

The designers decided to go with a different look, that's all. ;)
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

If you haven't played this game, yet; you're in for a treat. Be prepared to become a hermit for the next year or so. :D

Flaky shields

Well, some of the gear is pretty flaky looking, but that's fantasy weapons and armour design for you :(

You may also notice that if your character switches direction, their "handedness" reverses - at least if they're dual wielding. Have a character dual wield distinctive weapons, walk screen right, spin around and walk screen left - the weapons will mysteriously swap hands.

That being said, this is an awesome game, I think you'll love it. For best results, play through the vanilla game at least once before installing any mods or reading the evil, evil, evil cheese guide
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

I hope you've ordered Throne of Bhaal as well. It brings the story to a satisfying end.
