Sword of Backstabbing

I finished the Maevar Quest but Renal did'nt give me the sword, only gold (I think it's around 10,000).

I have an Assassin playing this game.

I've read from FAQs/Walkthroughs that you'll get it as a reward from Renal?

What's wrong?

I do not now what is wrong, but I also missed this sword when I played a bounty hunter. Got it in all other games though. Maybe it is something thief-specific? but it surely does not seem fair.

I thought that if your character was a Thief that he gives you the Stronghold(Guild house) instead of the sword?? I could be wrong...

Krimmy is right. If you're a thief, you gain the stronghold, not the sword.... :(
You can always use SK.... :cool:

If you are a thief and you refuse the stronghold (didn't feel it fitted with my swashbuckler) then he gives you the sword.
