Ideas for Items

Post by Galuf the Dwarf »

I've gone through this forum for 1 or 2 years already, though today is the first day of me officially being a member. Well, I just thought I might want to share some ideas of some items that may make the game interesting. Of course, some of these are themed ones, and are only for homage and humor, not to be made/modded in.

First of all:

Grimlock's Sword (Yes, inspired by the Transformers, for those who know of the series)

This weapon was used by a giant being considered to an iron golem in the shape of a dragon or ancient creature the elves called "Dinosaurs". When Grimlock was mistaken for a dragon by a pair of human travelers, he barreled into a monstrous race, changing his metal skin to appear in a giant humanoid-looking form with parts of his dinosaur skin still attached. His sword was the first thing to cause havoc, swung like a windmill, slashing rocks and trees into rubble. However, Grimlock soon became disgusted with the beings around him, and fled without his weapon, never to be seen on Toril again. The blade appears to have a hint of the giant metal being's outrageous behavior with it.

Special Abilities:
Berserk once per day
Agannazzar's Scorcher once per day

Damage: 2d4+4
ThAC0: 6+4
Weight: 35 lbs.
Speed Factor: 6
Requires: 20 Strength
Proficiency: Bastard Sword
Not Usable By:
Druid
Mage
Thief
Lawful Good Alignment

This item is more for fans of the TV series (and an expression of it by me). I'll post some other stuff later.

Kryptonite sword!
Imp. Spiders'Bane with unlimited web cast!
Shapechange 2 green troll-sword!
BG1' Xvart summoning!

What a most brilliant idea! ;)

Can YOU guess the serie(s) or heroe(s) these swords are from or based on? :D

Welllll... let me guess

Nitewulf, your idea sounds to be based upon some Superman series.

As much as I kind of remember the Smurfs, I can't think of much of anything for that, or the Care Bears (shudders at the thought of them). Sorry guys.

Here's a serious personal idea for an item

Staff of Dragons +3

Abilities:
Fireball (1 charge per day)
Burning Hands (3 charge per day)
Firesmite (2 charge per day)
Dragon's Skin (Natural AC becomes like that of Red Dragonscale Armor, for 8 rounds once per day)
+10% (or 10/- in 3rd Edition D&D) Fire Resistance

1d6+4 (+1 fire damage)
ThAC0=7+3 (will edit if this doesn't look right)
weight: 12 pounds
Speed Factor: 5
Proficiency Type: Quarterstaff
Usable by:
Mage
Sorceror
Non-Lawful Alignment

Well, what do you think?

After my post I thought of some others;

The sword of Greyskull (He-Man)
The crystal sword from Blackstar: it's actually split in half and must be united in the show.
Thundarr's sunsword!

Some from the Dungeon's and Dragons cartoon

The bow(although we do have plenty of bows)
the staff(don't think it did much though)
The wizard's cap
the little barbarians clubcan

Can't remember the other items

I couldn't write and decent backstory for the items but maybe you can.

Kind of embarassing that I remember this.

In the D&D cartoon:
The staff extended, not that exciting
The shield could produce some kind of magical barrier
There was a cloak of invisibility
and you remembered the club, hat of infinite items, & bow

for the care-bear item, how about armour with a symbol on the chest that you could cast prismatic spray from?

for the smurf's, an item that can cause feeblemind & make the victum sing la la la-la-la la (you know the tune).

How about:
Pee-Wees Play House-Genie in a box that grants 1 wish spell per day with options like: swimming like a fish.

Wolverine-dual weilding dagger's with regeneration abilities

Storm-item that cast call lightning

Jubilee-wand of color spray

Ghostrider-cursed skull helmut that makes you say the word 'vengence' in every sentence.

Scooby-doo-item that casts spook

Batman-a belt that is a bag of holding

Boy, I could go on all day.
