I finished IWD2
I finished IWD2
Feburary 16th at about 4:00 a.m. I finally finished it. I am overall very satisfied with the game. I really like how they implamented the 3rd edition rules.
I think my favorite part is the battle squares in chapter 2.
I think I am going to move on naow to Never Winter Nights.
I will definately play IWD2 again, but when I do I think I will try the heart of winter. Anybody know if in this mode the charactors go beyond 16th level? Also how actually do you start in heart of fury mode and how does one import charators?
Fritz, come on buddy get up.

And locks,Originally posted by Phantom Lord
I hated that final battle ... playing NWN after IWD2 sure feels strange. One very small spoiler for NWN: Be prepared to deal with traps.
(almost) EVERY chest is locked, but a good bashing weapon works great
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Didn't like the final battle in IWD 2. Highlight for explanation: You get teleported into the room, first thing that happens is someone casts blasphemy. You're stunned, everyone else has fun with summons and buffs. Great deal, reload, run back asap to escape blasphemy. A few trials later you realize it's the guy to the right who casts a hundred summions. Reload, run back, escape blasphemy, kill the conjurer. At last I manage to get through part one without severe losses. Then I enter part two and everyone is happy and healed up altough I have tainted the pool. Very interesting, what's the deal with tainting it after all? And did I mention my allergy against slayer knights? Tired of getting slaughtered by obviously superior enemies I resorted to the use of the two protection from magic scrolls cast on enemy, one in the first part, one in the second part. Which makes things far too easy on the other hand. It's kinda cheese or lose, but not strategy. Btw, a possibility to save beetween the two parts of the battle would have been fine.
The final battle in NWN was a little easy on the other hand, but maybe I was just lucky (Ranger/Rogue).

NWN
So you finished IWD2 and I assume you must be well on your way with NWN. I hope you went down to the pub and had a drink and talked with ALL the boys and girls down there.
I myself am at the final battle of IWD2, and after playing all the BGs and IWDs, I must agree with Phantom Lord, of all the finals NWN would have had to have been the easiest.
Stilgar your right, chests, chests and more chest and very little in them. I would rather have had half the number of chests with something more substantial in them. I'm looking forward to the expansion due here very soon I hope

Heart Of Fury
I tried NWN's but it would not run to good on my computer. I had troubles with spells and updating the game. I am currantly in chapter3 of IWD 2. I imported my charactors from the first game and I am playing in heart of fury mode. This increases the difficultly by far. I will creat a new post when I finish this game and talk about my charactors and black isle in general.
I will make Targos mine!

NWN & IWD2
I'm running Windows XP. - With NWN there is a massive patch at Bioware which I found made a distinct difference.
IWD2 I am about to play the final battle. If I survive, I am thinking of trying Morrowwind
You must gather your party before venturing off

What is morrowwind, the 2nd to NWN?.
No D&D, but still a VERY good RPG!!
Takes 15 minutes to get used to (and like every RPG) you start over 100times untill you have the best character, but when the game is going it's realy good.
EDIT
About massive patch:
run the autopatches, some patcher are over 10mb (what is alot for a patch)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I think the best thing is for you to visit nwn.bioware.com and hae a look at the patches available. I agree with Stilgar, whats a patch if it fixes nearly all your problems. And it did for me. Everything from choppy music and voice and a whole lot of other things. It took so long I got tired and went to bed and in the am presto it was done. I don't know what you are running, but my son-inlaw running 98 didn't have the problems I did.
Stilgar, if you are reading this. Morrowind I just keep seeing it on the shelves and it looked similar to NWN. So it'S DIFFERENT?

It's a totally different game. It's made by another company (Bethesda), it's set it a whole different world, it's a whole different idea behind it (virtually free exploration of the whole territory). Have you ever played The Elder Scrolls: Arena? It was a long time ago (back when 486 processors just arrived and cost about as much as PIV 3.06 today) and it was the first in the series. It was bugged as hell, but was also amazing in the way of freedom of choice (no game back then even came close). And while I haven't played The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, I've heard it's really good.
