As talented as Tim Duncan is, he's cancelled out by Shaq's presence... who's gonna cover Kobe?

We'll stick with the talk thank you very much :p

I haven't followed the NBA for the past two seasons but the Spurs used to be my favourite team ;)

...let's have a talk then. :p

The Lakers are gunning for their 4th consecutive Larry O'Brien Golden Globe. If this happens then Coach Phil Jackson will surpass the Celtics' Red Auerbach of nine rings. Jackson has already nine too (6 from the Chicago Bulls and 3 from the Lakers).

If that happens then Phil will be the NBA's Lord of the Rings.

I can just feel another Purple Reign in June.

Rumors have it that Scottie Pippen will reunite with Phil OR Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz will wear Purple and Gold next season.

David "The Admiral" Robinson of the Spurs is retiring after this season. :(

The Admiral is going, a shame. I heard about Stockton retiring also, along with Jordan there goes a fair amount of skill. :(

Why would Jackson need Pippen or Malone, they were good in their prime, but they are both on the verge of retiring. Sign up a prospective rookie, as those guys will most likely breakdown during the season.

Oh, F1 is on. Go Alonso Image

A new era is dawning...

...with Stockton, Robinson and Jordan out for good, you only have Pip and Malone as the remaining players of the original NBA Dream Team that played in the Barcelona Olympics in '92.

I think Pippen would add nicely at the defensive end as well as playmaking (of course being Phils' Bulls player is also a factor). Malone on the other hand would give that power forward player the Lakers sorely need. Too bad Dennis Rodman isn't an option anymore.

I'm off to dinner. Will tune in to that F1 too.

Damn you all @BBC

Grrrr, what complete and utter bastards, the guys from BBC FiveLive are. I put up with a good 20 minutes of pre-race commentary and then when it starts, they give me the "Legal reasons prevent us from broadcasting live" rubbish.

Damn it, Webber missed out on points yet again. Schumi won and Alonso came second as I predicted  :D

I found this little quote, pretty enlightening "Ferrari only won the Spanish Grand Prix because they used their new car at a race for the first time this year, according to Michael Schumacher."

So close for Alonso, but yet so far...

C'mon Duncan...make my month *Starts praying* :D :D . Honestly I don't believe they'll win. But I can always hope ;)

BTW - I think Malone is getting too old....

NHL PLAYOFFS TUESDAY NIGHT (Some old news)

Vancouver (4th) leads Minnesota (6th) 3-2
New Jersey (2nd) eliminates Tampa Bay (3rd) 4-1

No doubt that Malone is getting old...who isn't?

However, unlike guys pushing 40, Malone has still the strength and skills to still be competitive for another season.

Looking at the present roster the Lakers have, they sure would need someone like Malone for that 4 position (power forward).

Ottawa in 6
Anaheim in 7

Though Minnesota has a strong defensive game, as well as a good scoring team, I think Anaheim is still riding high enough that they'll be able to pinch a win through it.

Go Lakers!
I'm still amazed at Shaw's basket from yesterday. All I can say about Malone is that there is not another person who I would rather have not be on the Lakers.

...that you are not an admirer of the legendary Motor Mouth Mailman Malone. :D

Tell me then, James, who do you think would be a perfect and practical addition (considering free agency and salary caps) to LA's #4 position?

Surely Dennis Rodman is out of the question.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

How rigged is the NBA that Cleveland just happens to get the #1 lottery pick?

The Pistons will have Carmelo Anthony next year. Wow.

My beloved Red Sox are in first place. I have to get excited for that even though as a lifelong fan I know they are a train rapidly accelerating towards a very very thick wall.
