Well, I'm planning on creating a female magical half-elf swordmaster, and had a few basic questions.
(1) Does being female balance out in the reactions pro and con?
(2) Does Charm actually subtract from the target's reaction? (It doesn't seem to unless the target makes his/her save, but I was just wondering.)
(3) Is Speak with Dead worth the points in learning? (It seems like most bodies don't know much, but I hope the spell might come into it's own later, and being able to summon the murderer in the beginning after setting him free as punishment was cool, if twisted.)
A few questions (Magic)
Concerning your first question, I think males get a better strength, and females get a better constitution. Not too sure about charm, and I never found much use for conjure spirit, though it's been a long time since I've played, so my memory is a little hazy.
I would undoubtedly prefer the former...or the latter.

Might be worth digging out the game to play it again, to find out. -Except that I really got frustrated over the inability to control my party members in battle. That's what led me to ultimately remove Arcanum from my hard drive, uttering mighty oaths.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Mighty oaths indeed; Virgil kept on knocking himself out trying to heal Magnus. At least they don't shoot you in the back like Iolo in Ultima VII (or do they, I don't remember ) I'd have to dig quite a bit to get it back out...it's in my room, somewhere.
