"Soultaker" dagger
"Soultaker" dagger
Where in Durlag's Tower will I find the dagger called "Soultaker"? I need it to complete Hurgan Stoneblade's quest from Ulgoth's Beard. I've found several plain daggers, but not the right one. Thanks.

Soultaker: possible spoilers
@minamoto: Congratulations. I see you made it out of dungeon level 3. Were you able to figure out the door controls and get your loot out? Anyway, Soultaker is the final prize of this quest. Not sure where you are now in the game. Did you make it past the chessboard and down to the final level where you meet Durlag's ghost? Once you've done Durlag's three quests, passed some tests of knowledge, etc. his ghost will escort you to the final door which has been sealed up to now. In the final room you meet a lone terrified adventurer. She is the second surviving member of the previous adventuring party (you met the first guy in dungeon level 1). Talk to her and pump her for all the info she has on the demon in the next room. If you follow her hints the battle can be quite easy. When you've killed the demon you will find Soultaker on his corpse. Good luck.
Final battle with demon (highlite to read):The terrified adventurer tells you that all her party was butchered in the next room. Apparently the demon knight has a magic mirror that creates duplicates of your party that you will have to fight. Hmmm - sounds like what Durlag had to do. Anyway have your party enter the demons chamber and spread them out near the entrance so they aren't blocking each other - don't go down the stairs yet. Now buff up someone with invisibility and move him around to the right along the upper circle until you see another set of stairs heading down. Have the invisible party member go down the stairs and head right for the mirror and force attack it. The demon will probably spot you and initiate dialog. As soon as any dialogs are over continue to attack the mirror until it shatters. Now the demon can't make dopplegangers of your party. You still need to kill him and some wraiths however so now you can bring you whole party into the fray. Hope this helps. Also you will meet another survivor on the far side of the upper ring. If you explored thoroughly in Ulgarth's Beard you may have met his mother. She offers you a quest to rescue the boy. He is the third and last survivor of the previous party of adventures that went before you. Recover the dagger and head back to UB for even more fun and surprises.

Regarding the final battle:
SPOILER (highlight to read)
It has been a while since I played Tales of the Sword, but as I recall, if you break the mirror, you still have to fight phantoms, and they are actually duplicates of everyone in the vicinity, including the Demon Knight. The biggest problem I had was killing the Demon Knight (who was busy attacking me) before the phantom who was attacking him could kill him. You get the same amount of experience for either kill, but I wanted to kill both of them, not just the phantom.
The other problem I faced was the Demon Knight's powerful magic. If I buffed up my character before the battle, it all went to waste because the Demon Knight cast Dispel Magic. My character was then susceptible to Hold, Stun, and Fear spells (I can't remember which one the Demon Knight was using). My solution was to buff up my character (including Oil of Speed and a Potion of Cloud Giant Strength), and then have her drink two Potions of Magic Shielding, which protected her from Dispel Magic and Stun/Hold/Fear spells and let her remain buffed up.
