I have been playing IWD2 on an off since december. I just started a game that I really like, but I was wondering if it would be good later on in the game.

My party consits of a fighter/rouge (lev 2/2), a barbarian (lev 4), a sorceress (lev 4), and a demarch of mask (lev 4)

so far, i haven't had any real problems and am about to go beat down Torak and go to Vrek's cave. The characters are almost lev 5 each, which has helped because in my other games with 6 characters i got to lev 5 at the end of the shangarne bridge quest.

But, after reading several posts i have heard that the highest lev you can get is 16. That would mean that i would max out with the characters possibly a while before the last battle, but with several people saying that the last battle is hard wiith 6 characters i am a bit concerned.

any replies welcome.

The experience limit in IWD2 is level 30. It's impossible to reach lvl 30 in the normal difficulty modes (perhaps when soloing), it's reserved for HoF mode. Level 16 is the maximum that a party of six characters can reach, but if you're playing with less, you'll get more. There might be a cap at lvl 20 for the regular modes, but I'm not sure.

I'm not totally sure, but I think the level cap is 40th if in Heart of Fury mode. I could be wrong. I'm for sure going to find out since I am level 22 right now in chapter 3 HOF.

I've played through most of the game with 4 chars and I haven't had too many problems. I'm in the Severed Hand at the end of the game right now and my characters are 16th and 17th levels. I have in my group:

Halfling Monk
Tiefling Fighter
Moon Elf Druid
Wild Elf Sorcerer

The only bummer about this group is that I can't raise my dead if someone dies. I have to reload or hike back to a town to bring them back. Happens once in a blue moon but these four have been able to handle just about everything.
If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape it. If it should move and doesn't, WD-40 it!

Hobbit, I hate the GW forums too. Its an awful system, and people are a lot friendler here too. :)
