I am the king of getting my butt kicked in RPG's, but I can't stop playing! In ToB, how the heck do you take out the Master Wraith and all his Vampiric Shadows??? I have tried it about 5 times now, and am still going back to my saved games! Losing 5 party members just is not acceptable to me!

lol, try a planetar and cast globe of blades and have it tear through them all. You can tank the the master if you want.

Ahh... I must be trying this fight a little too early then since I don't have either of those options. Would you recommend going to the Watcher's Keep before heading out after the Fire Giants temple?

Ummm... I went right after yaga shura but you should be able to do it before that. Thats only one option. The planetar it self is able to cast globe of blades. Btw planetars rock :D . You only need to get a mage to lvl 20. You should be able to do it without the planetar, its just pretty easy then. Some more info about your party and I could perhaps give you some help.

MAN! I gotta get me one of those... Here's a question... I still have Jahiera (dig them pointy ears, man), and at her last level up, I was able to choose 2 high level abilities. BUT, I can't figure out how the heck to use them? They aren't listed along with the rest of her abilities (the little star button), and they are not listed as spells... what gives?

Ok, in SoA there is the amulet of power, this prevents level drains. Most vamp types don't do much damage they just drain. Next in SoA are scrolls on protection from undead, they last 5 or 10 turns are cheap for the frustration they save you and, nothing undead will attack your character. Undead hunter Palidins are immune to level drain and can cary holy avenger, need I say more? Lastly, and my all time favorite Beserkers [and Barbarians] are immune to level drain while raged. They are also unstoppable killing machines short of Mantle spells. They can't be mazed or imprisoned, noir anything else to make you loose control of your character while enraged. I use a custom crew of Sorceress elf, Berserker human, Undead Hunter human, Thief/Illusionist gnome wrecking crew, but that makes things really easy.

Single party do My sorceress, Jan, Drow cleric, Va?? Stalker, and ?? the Blade

Blade is my tank, that's right with Def spin has -16 or more AC and can spell him up with stone skin, etc. Stalker is backup tank, Cleric does neg plane protection on Stalker for vamp types.

Better stop :)

Irnein... Not sure... I'll have to fire it up again and check again, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I had to take a break to drink a few beers because getting my butt kicked was really starting to bug me! ;) I'll post again later and let you know if I find it. So far, Jaheira is the only character I have had to select the High level abilities for.

I was smart enough to pre-order.. but then the release got bumped back a couple times so I was afraid that my bank account would be empty when it finally shipped! Lucked out and it shipped right after payday... You should be able to find it in stores though. I think... don't quote me on that!

Hey Irenin... Went back into the game, and I think I got a bug. When I click on Jaheira, her special abilities icon is greyed out. So, not only do I not have acces to the high level abilities she just recently gained, but I also can't do her shape change abilities! Man, oh man... I think I need another beer... :(

With Anomen Turning Undead, none of the Shadows (even the Devil ones) survive that long in ToB. Just give him Boots of Speed so he can keep out of touch range.

Hey Panda, I've been trying that turn undead with my main char. Even with Boots of Speed, she is constantly surrounded by frikkin shadows! Didn't know if the turn undead was even a viable option because I haven't seen any results thus far.

Ok, I know I've been away for a while, but, I've been swamped with work, & beta testing 3 other softwares. I'm getting back into my game now, but, I've literally tried all of the suggestions for defeating these vampires, but, I don't have planetar for my character. I'm a Paladin, & my other 5 party members keep getting wiped out as well when I try to kill the vampires. I don't have sunlight, & my clerics can't cast very many spells with the exception of negative plane protection, but, it doesn't have very much effect on them. PLEASE spoil me with something else I can try to defeat them. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give me!

i think in that fight the slave wraiths are insanely tough, you need to take down the master and the slaves will go away on their own, hope that helps.
