I hope they are enforced, though I have (yet) seen few examples here of anything wrong.

What I have seen, in the places you'd least expect to see it (in both the official BG2 game company's forums) are in each case, one malicious person (with several accounts; a different person in each forum) cause fully half of all of the board's postings to be: their filthy spam, people complaining to them to stop their filthy spam, people telling other people to stop replying to their filthy spam as it pushes it to the top of the list, and people complaining to the board administrators to have them removed. A bad time for all.

So if anyone complains about the rules, this is what can happen otherwise... one person will always take advantage of leniency.

does anyone else think the rules are kinda hard to find?

if i did not know to go look for them, i don't think i would have seen them.

i would suggest that they be near the "hello, __________ { log out )" part of the site, as i think more people would see them.

by the same token i'm not too sure the folks who should read the rules will, but that's a different story.

(as to the contents of the rules - no complaints)

Sorry for the stupid question but I am not really sure on the lingo. What does "spam" or "spamming" mean?

Spamming is posting stuff that have no meaning to the topic or forum. Buck made the Speak Your Mind Forum for stuff like that, to try and keep the game forums clean and full of information for the game.

Buck, I think the rules you have posted are good thing. In fact, the rules are a few sentences about the normal behaviour of a normal person. I do not see any confinements as far as the normal behaviour is concerned. On the other hand, they form a simple legal basis for removing everybody who mistakes the forum for something else. Good.
