I talk to Lothander, says I am poisoned. Then I talk to the Diviner, says to go to the ***** Queen to get a scroll. I tell Lothander what's up and he says he'll see me at the Blade and Stars Inn. So I go to the ***** Queen, she says give me the Book of Wisdom. I go get it and give it to her. She says thanks and "gives" me the scroll to remove the curse that Lothander has, but she doesn't actually GIVE it to me. It just says, "Party lost item" and that's it. The scroll isn't on the ground, my main character has enough open slots to accomodate the scroll so he couldn've dropped it, and I'm pretty sure I didn't steal it from her either. What the heck am I supposed to do? Is this a bug or something, I need the scroll to LIVE!
Is there a hack or something that gives me the scroll?
What scroll is it? Is it just a "remove curse" scroll or is it something special?

Try telling her you don't trust her so that she gives you the scroll before you give up the book.
EDIT: I tried looking up the item code for you, but couldn't find it. It is possible that the item doesn't actually exist, but is just a variable that gets set when you talk to Jalantha. Try going over to Lothandar and see what he says.

I think JackOClubs has the problem identified. There are two dialog options you get when you return with the Tome of Wisdom. If you just give her the Tome she doublecrosses you and keeps the Remove Geas Scroll. Now your only choice is to kill her and take it off her body (and recover the Tome of Wisdow for your own use). In the other dialog option you tell her that you don't trust her and want to see the scroll first.
This is the dialog you want if you don't want to kill her:
Jalantha Mistmyr: 'So, you've returned with the Book of Wisdom. Let me see it.'
You: 'We don't trust you. Before we show it to you, we want the cure to our friend's geas.'
Jalantha Mistmyr: 'You dare question my honor! Very well, this scroll is scripted with the incantation that will rid your friend of his curse. Now give over the book.'
You: 'Here's your precious book.'
Jalantha Mistmyr: 'Our bargain is now finished, I would ask you to leave.'

I got it fixed... but I kinda had to "cheat" a bit, by using the CLUA command to summon the Remove Geas Scroll. It works fine, I rectified the problem myself without the need for posting on this forum, it's just that something similar happened to me in Planescape Torment where I lost an item. Does PS:T have cheats similar to Baldur's Gate? It doesn't seem like it, that's why there are a few hacker-programs out for PS:T... Oh and I intend to get IWD2. Is it good, are they going to release an expansion pack for it, too? It seems all CRPG games using the infinity engine have expansion packs out... except for TORMENT (but I guess an expansion would be strange for Torment: they couldn't possibly add stuff to the end of the game.... but maybein the middle someone, an extra plane you can go to? Oh well it's too late for that now...)
'cus if IWD2 is coming with an expansion sometime soon, then I'll wait and get the 2-for-1 bundle like what I got with Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II... but not with IWD (the original). I got IWD used for $9 (yes, $9, not $9.99 but just $9). So I intend to obtain Heart of Winter... elseisowhere...

Go download a program called "Infinity Explorer". I don't remember where to get it from, just search Google and you'll find it. You can view EVERY item, dialog, character, NPC, picture, etc. from ANY Infinity Engine game [BG, IWD, PS:T, BG2 and IWD2 (I think)].
Then download Dragon UnPacker to extract any file from Infinity Engine games, such as pictures, sounds, music, etc. I got all the Morte speech files from Planescape: Torment! But for sounds to work you'll also have to get a wavc to wav converter. Look it up, it's a pain to use because you have to type "wavc filewhatever.wavc filewhatever.wav", but I used good ol' Canadian Turing and made a program that does it all for me.

It's Geas Removal Scroll. Geas Removal Scroll. Got it?
But before you think I sound too negative, please accept my thanks for the instructions on how to extract music. I'd like to try that.
BTW, Infinity Explorer does not work with IWD2. I had to get a copy of Near Infinity for it. I suppose it does the same things that Infinity Explorer does, but I haven't used it much (there just wasn't much in IWD2 that I felt like looking up), and I'm not familiar with the interface. I should also mention that Dalekeeper works well with IWD2. I sure was glad that I could reverse character development decisions that I regretted without having to start over.
I use ShadowKeeper to look up characters and items, even in BG1. You can't edit BG1 saved games or characters with ShadowKeeper, but the Item Browser, Spell Browser, and Creature Browser work just fine. Creature codes and item codes aren't as difficult to figure out in BG1 as they are in BG2, so the various browsers (which let you sort by names) are very useful if you want to find something in BG2. In fact, I usually look up codes with ShadowKeeper before I use Infinity Explorer.
I don't know of any good character editors for PS:T. I've used Infinity Explorer to examine the dialogues, though.
As far as expansions, I haven't seen anouncements for IWD2. But extra areas would fit right in, no matter which chapter they were added to.
BTW, I got my copy of IWD2 for $14.99 at Fry's Electronics less a $10.00 mail-in rebate. I'll probably have to pay more than that for an expansion if one ever comes out.

Ahh, I never knew that. I have always just browsed through item codes by trial and error. Thanks for the tip.
